R&G Sliders vs Speedymoto

Hi folks,
I know next to nothing about sliders so I am interested in your opinions.
I found these R&Gs at Pure Ducati. They claim to be the only 'insurance approved' sliders on the market - whatever that means. They also claim to have unique construction - some sort of polymer that will slow the bike's slide and also the posts are designed to bend thereby protecting the frame from bending.
My question - is that just marketing hype or do all sliders do the same thing? at $135 a set is that a reasonable investment?

They are all doing the same - depends on how wide they are and how much parts they safe.
The wider they stand out the more parts they can safe but then theres a higher chance that they bend if you have a crash at high speed as happened to me 2 years ago.

So if you want to buy some sliders look at the design and choose the nicest ones :D

If you are looking for cheap ones have a look at this from korea:

They do the same job as every other slider which is mounted at 1 point at the frame and, in my opinion, they look much better then r&g or speedymoto :D

There a bunch of pics on the website. They do look good, especially the gold adapters. I worry more about tipovers than crashing, so any slider is better than none.

My last street 'off' was at 15 mph when some insurance scammer cut me off on purpose, and that is the only street crash I've had in the last 23 years. The scammer came out of her car with a video camera on me...luckily I never touched her. Took all my willpower to not take it and smash it. I was on my E-Glide, and I was so angry that I had no problem picking it back up, unassisted. The engine and saddlebag guards saved the bike.

You can see some pictures of the parts here:

Holy crap...I can't believe [don't get me wrong, I do] that someone could be that low. Anyone who would do that has no business living, I hate to say. I hate to get all nationalistic, but as much as the Canadian winters drive me nuts, I'm really glad that we don't have the litigious society that you guys have. We have some of it, yes, and for sure it's gotten a bit worse, but still nothing like that. It would have made my day if the story ended with her getting jail time, but I guess that's dreaming in colour??
