Red TC / over-rev flashing while shifting

I happened to notice recently (could have been happening before and I just wasn't catching it) that on some occasions when I am shifting gears I'll get a red flash just as I'm engaging the clutch. Shifts a smooth as far as I can tell. I don't *think* I'm being so aggressive that TC is kicking in to prevent a wheelie, tires are in good shape and roads have been dry when I saw this.

Bike is still starting in limp mode from time to time (waiting for it to get consistent to take it back to the dealer) so I'm hoping it's unrelated. Last time I got limp mode I noticed a few lights on the dash flash (xmas tree maybe?) briefly and then clear. Killed and restarted the bike and it ran fine for the 2.5 hour ride home so I'm thinking (hoping) this is not a sign the dash is dying.

I get the single flash when shifting, though only notice when on it hard and nearing redline. I think if you stay on the gas a little while shifting aggressively it likes to warn you. Mine runs fine and does this.

Makes sense, I certainly didn't notice any difference in performance, so I suspect it's exactly that.

It depends what TC setting you’re using. The higher the number, the more sensitive the TC is. My three riding mode ‘folders’ never select a TC setting above 4.
