I picked up a used '16 939 with about 4500 miles. Just found out that I am eligible for purchasing the extended warranty until april. never purchased extra warranty on any of my previous bikes from Suzuki to BMW.

For those of you who have owned and put a good amount of miles on your Strada, Should I have any reliability concerns?

Silentlight0,

Congrats and welcome. Coming from a guy that never purchases automotive warranties...you'll be fine. The motor is based on the 821, which is phenomenal and trouble free. In typical Italian label fashion, the electronics were the weak points. I should preface this by stating that I have a '13 821 and haven't really followed the later gen issues. The biggest issues - disco dash and throttle position sensor (TPS)/ limp mode - were TSB'd and fixable out of warranty (in most cases). I don't chalk the early brake issues up to defect as I feel it was mostly frozen bobbins and solved with a little oil (even though I got a set of race rotors out of my dealer for complaining).

But...if you have the cheddar, why not buy a worry-free warranty? I have the money but trust my history of Consumer Electronics articles that say statistically they're a waste of money, like modern electronics warranties (assuming you did research and aren't buying a lemon). I was dumb-lucky in having a dealer that focused on repeat business. This means eating a grand for a set of rotors to make a customer feel special increased his chances I'll buy from him again. These are the dealers you want to work with.
