Standard tire mileage

what is a realistic mileage from the standard tires on the Hyperstrada ?

Read the "Which tires for hyperstrada" thread. I think you'll be lucky to get 7500 miles out of rear, maybe a little more out of front.

I had about 3500 miles on rear before blowout. It looked relatively new with more than a few millimeters till wear bars.

Most said Michelin P3's were best alternative and get considerably more mileage.

I allready checked that "Which tires for hyperstrada" thread - have been reading some review sites on tires and the answer seems to vary between 7000 and 10.000 miles.
There seldom an indication of riding style - so difficult to know.

That would be similar to previous bikes I had.

If you are worried about tire life, I'd look elsewhere...most are getting about 5000 miles out of their tires. I treat each ride like a track day, so mine were replaced at 3500.

That said - if you run the lowest power setting, the max ABS and TC, and ride like my wife, you might get 10k. But would that be any fun?

Like I said in the which tires thread I had about 8 500 kms (5000 miles) till my tire was toast, canvas showing. I wasn't particularly hard on this tire either. It lasted my break in, a few spirited rides and a few weekend trips and some city riding.

I'm at 12000+ Km (7456 miles) and I think I can do another 5000(ish) km (3100 miles). I drive rather conservatively. No burn or excessive braking. ABS always ON.

I've done 9000 miles in 6 months. The standard tyres are great and I do ride it hard. My average speed was 47mph at the first tyre change. I put on a pair of maxis diamonds. My average speed has dropped to 43 mph. Do not fit these tyres to your bike. I've raced dirt bikes all my life, so don't mind a bike that moves. These plain scared me. Going to fit a pair of angels if there are no adverse comments to these.
