'Strada electrical tip: Switched live under seat without hacking the loom.

Just to share something that worked for me.
Based on: I don't like to chop up an unmolested wiring loom and am not a fan of those piggyback scotchlock splices but did require ignition-switched 12v live under the seat (Gear indicator)

A part of the 'Strada's touring credentials are the 2 'Hella' DIN1465 external power sockets. One of them is here-

Much as I like to have a power socket, being switched with ignition is not very useful for me.

(No pic. sorry) Peel back the rubber boot and you find 2 female spade connectors in a plastic receptacle.

If you get a small screwdriver into the receptacle, you can push down a springy metal tang on the spade itself, and the spade will slip out easily without force.
Remove the receptacle and the rubber boot.

If you shine a bright light under the rear of the bike you should (hopefully) see a route through, just beside the ECU.

Wiggle a stiff wire down the hole and it should emerge around here

Tape the spades to the stiff wire (and maybe a piece of string, black above, more later) and pull through.
The cable that feeds that rear socket is on a small loom that also goes to the fuel pump.
There is enough length spare to pull right up and the plastic receptacle can be refitted.

Voilà - shrouded 12v live, switched with ignition, 8A max power (for 2 sockets), conveniently placed for a regular spade connection, no wires were harmed! and can be returned to stock.

Back to the string . . .
All my bikes have (had) power connectors, but just a fused supply straight from the battery for either charging or camping power supply.
I had a spare fused charging cable, so connected it to the battery, pulled it back through with string, put spade terminals on, I even remembered to put the rubber boot on first (what a win!) and connected it back up to the socket that was there. (You can see the inline fuse on the picture above right just above mi' fingers)
It's much more useful to me like that. So 2 jobs in one.
