Sweden, living in Hua Hin, Thailand
Hi,

I'm a swede living in Thailand and I am currently riding a CB500X which I bought just a month ago. After some 2,000+ kilometers I went to the new Ducati dealer here in Hua Hin. Got to test drive the Hyperstrada and what can I say. I fell in love.

So, now I've decided to sell my Honda and get the Strada.

I don't have a lot of bike experience, the CB is the first big bike I own.

When I was younger (back in the early 1990's) we used to rent Honda MTX 125cc for a couple of weeks every time we went to northern Thailand to drive around in the mountains. Must have done a couple of thousand km on that model. Also did one tour of eastern Thailand on a Honda AX1 250 during that time.

Before I bought the CB500X I did my daily commuting on a 125cc Suzuki Skydrive, which I still use every day. Some 25.000 km's in the three years I owned that one and it's still going strong. I guess that counts to some kind of bike riding experience even though it could hardly be described as a bike...

But, soon I will change to a Hyperstrada. Want the white one, but dealer says they only have red ones in Thailand, so I guess that will have to do. The only reason I would like to get the white is that I want to be different. ;)

Hi there! Welcome to the forum.....I'm almost having the same experience as you on bike riding just that I only have a scooter so far...the Honda SH 150i. I've never seen any white Hyperstrada either in Vietnam nor in Malaysia...guess they don't have white for Asia market? Will love to ride over to Thailand one day if I can get the documentation to cross border.

Welcome!

The Hyperstarda is so far the only bike I ever owned so no worries. Just be carefull and avoid going too far behond your comfort zone.

Thanks for the welcome.

I got an offer of 170,000 THB (5,200 USD) for my CB500X yesterday. (bought it for 203,000 - 6,300 USD).
Not sure what to do... Sell it or wait for a better offer...

Hi iGuava

I'm up in Bangkok, but also have a house in Cha Am. I ride my Strada to Cha Am quite frequently for the weekends.

You'll enjoy the Hyperstrada, it's a great bike.

Ducati Cha Am is correct, there is only red model available for local market (as you probably know, the bike is fabricated here in Thailand, in Amata City, Rayong, with Engine, Brakes and Suspensions being imported).

Give me a shout out next time you're coming down this way. I just sold my CB and will go and book my Ducati today. Any good/fun roads up the Cha Am way? I took a last ride with my CBX up towards Pala-U Sunday. OK trip but a little bit to bad surface to be really funny.

The coastal road from Cha Am to Rama 2 Road (going through Bang Ta Boon and Ban Laem) is a nice ride, about 80 kms passing through the Salt Farms. Mixture of winding and straight roads, and an absence of vehicles (apart for the Fred Flinstone Cars at the Salt Farms!) makes this road a nice journey.

Roads are a bit polished, so some of the bends are a bit twitchy on the back end, but the HS feels confident even when the back wheel breaks away sometimes.

Haven't spent much time riding around the area, as I like to Chill Out a bit when I get to Cha Am.

Keep us posted on your bike progress.

Have fun

Thanks, will take that road to Bangkok when I get the Strada. I have a house at Rama 2 that I haven't visited for a long time. Have to make a visit to the capital to get some gear. Not too much to find down here.
