Hi
Has anyone found any alternative tankbags for the hyperstrada, the ducati accessory one is very small (9 litres expandable to 12 litres) and offers limited storage capacity.
thanks

I went with a Cortech Super 2.0 12L Tank bag. I picked it up at a local dealer for about $70. I'm not positive, but I think that I actually have it mounted "backwards" compared to what it's supposed to be on a sport bike. I also did not use their supplied tank pad because it was much to large.

To mount it, I used their one piece strap with two buckles on the steering stem side, and then I used some universal nylon straps from the camping section at BassPro to mount the aft side under the tank cover. To refuel I just have to unclip the front clips; it's very simple. Its secure and has worked out awesome.

I rotated those pics to save some necks. Haha If anyone is interested or would like more details, let me know and I'll snap some pics of how I installed the thing.

Mmm, can see another rear grab handle snapping here!!
Have you secured rear mount with extra support from underneath?
One of the members on here cracked his with a small box on carrying only his chain lock!!

Well I ran the nylon strap on the aft side through the entire rubber handle; which is double stitched on both sides. If the tiny single strap (that you see hanging over the seat) was strong enough to secure the bag, the handle shouldn't cause any issues, being that it is secured with more overall surface area than that single strap. Also, being that it's distributing the weight over the width of the bag, it feels more secure versus when I used the single strap. As far of how it's connect to the bike, I actually ran the nylon strap beneath the entire tank cover down by the bolts that secure the tank cover and the shrouds. Although it's working; I'm going to have a second strap with grommets installed so I can use the actually mounting bolts to secure it.

Hopefully I won't be tearing anything off; but if it does, I'll keep you all informed. lol

I was more concerned for your rear bag fitting, the multi has brackets that fit underneath the rear mount to for more support, same as that very expensive kit for the DP rear bag.
I saw pictures on here of one member that fitted a rear box without the supports and his grab handle broke!! I'd like to fit a bag on the back of mine too, but have been waiting to see if an aftermarket kit comes along soon, if not i might bite the bullet and buy the DP rear pannier.

Oh! Yeah..I actually haven't used it. I picked that Pelican case up cheap a year agi and it's just been sitting. So I had the wild idea of using it for a tail bag/box. I did brace it with aluminum so I could flip it around and use it with a passenger, but it's just not secure enough. Even mounted the way it is in the picture makes me a bit nervous; so I probably won't use it. (even more-so now that you mentioned someone breaking their grab handles) Haha That's the last thing I want; picking up my trashed gear off the road away from home.

If anything, because chances are that I'll "tour" solo, I'll just buy a nice soft bag that will rest on the seat and I can strap down.

Thanks for the heads-up on the handles.

I got this bag for the back and I love it. Goes on and off easy. It expands, has waterproof cover...awesome.

Hi I have just fit a Kriega us 20 dry bag to the tank harness. Kriega is made in the UK and I must add build quality and customer services second to none. Not cheap but highly recommended. The bag can also be fut onto the rear seat if travelling solo, although a word of warning to those with a short inside leg, I know I was the butt of constant jokes as I struggled to get on it on a trip to Assen last weekend:D An excellent feature also is that Kriega also do a us10 pack which clips onto the us 20 either on tank harness or on back seat. They also do a US 30 but feel thus would be too big for dimensions of tank. Will upload some photos when work out how to do it from tapatalk app:cool:

I also have the Kriega US20 and US10 bags. I just use them on the rear seat / grab handle. It looks super clean and you don't have to secure with the strap loops provided with the bags, they work perfectly with the under seat loops perfectly.. I'll try and post pics soon.. Ps, I use the 10L on the rear as a daily use bag and when nothing is loaded inside it cinches down flat and secure..

Hi
I use kriega us 20 and the original Ducati Performance Tankbags from the old 796/1100 Hypermotard.
Works fine for me.

and you use this drybag in front of you as tankbag ?

The forum seemed to have spread to tail bags and c bow stuff. Hope that clarifies the issue for you.

I can't really see putting a tank bag on this bike. I'm looking for a handlebar bag alternative.

WOLFMAN. Rear straps run under the seat so when you take it off just the buckles are sticking out, front go around the steering head.
