My turn signal button fell off or broke off while riding on a highway. I use my signals a lot so I probably fatigued the button to a point where it broke off. (lack of use of turn signals is one of my biggest driving pet peeves).

I know the signals automatically go off at a certain distance. Still I needed to have them available as well as the riding mode button so here is how I temporarily fixed it with a pen and yes, duct tape.

1. Take the pen apart and cut off the end where there's no ink.

2. Press this pen part into the hole as shown in the picture.

3. Press a piece of duct tape over it forcing the pen part through it. Make sure the duct tape has slack on each side so it's possible to move the turn signal button left and right.

Test that the pen part goes in as far as it needs to turn off the turn signals and to change riding modes.

After calling some bike shops, this button/switch can't be bought without buying the whole assembly. Cost of the assembly is around $100. So I made a CAD model and 3d printed this switch with button.
If your switch ever breaks off and your bike is no longer under warranty, post a comment or pm and I can make this part for you.

Both of those fixes are trick, and thank you for that offer. There could be a few of us that live by the indicator to take you up on that. Cheers.

I've had a number of PM requests on this. I guess I didn't think anybody would want one. I'm kinda dumb that way. It has something to do with feelings of inferiority and not being rubbed down with baby oil enough when I was younger. No. I mean i'm serious. I'm fuckn crazy.

Just to be clear, the 3d printed button needs to be glued on. You will also need to shove something inside the hole underneath the button or it won't work. It will take some finagling and effort and work. This is NOT a ducati issued, snap on, like new fix.

If you still want it, I'll need $10 shipping.

Some one did ask me for the CAD model to print their own. I will send the CAD model to you for free. If you don't have a 3d printer, I would check your local library or search for a makerspace in your area.

Can you share CAD for button?

@Joecati, so cool of you to make that work! Would you mind sharing the CAD with me? I'm having the same problem. I can get it printed at a library near me. I sent you a PM.

@Joecati, I had the same problem a few days ago. Can't believe Ducati only offers a full unit replacement for 100$.

Would you be able to share the CAD model with me too please? Sent you a PM.

I'm running out of places to look for a replacement button. Does anyone have any dimensions for the opening? I can't seem to get a hold of @Joecati So I'll just design and print one.

Mine came off as I thumbed through riding modes couple weeks ago. I jammed it back on but am scared knowing what I'm in store for if it breaks or falls off during a ride.

@gatdammit can you take it off and take some pictures/measurements of the button for me? If you can do that it will help me make some replacements I can send to you.

Just lost the switch on my 2015 Diavel. Does anyone have a CAD source available still? Would love to get it.

This thread is hilarious. My button is sticking, and requires force to activate it... I have to fix it before the bloody thing falls off! If anyone shares a CAD model I'll put it up on my server for public use (and credit you).

Has anyone shared CAD yet? Thanks Ed
