Throttle grip movement not smooth -stick/slips (Heated grips)

Hi

As title- I notice that when I rotate my throttle very slowly the movement is not smooth.
It 'sticks' then 'slips' in its movement like it is binding and is hard to control the position precisely.

It doesn't feel too obvious in normal riding.

The grips are Ducati installed heated grips

Has anyone encountered this? I've read a few threads on throttles/ grips but not seen this mentioned.

Is there any option to lubricate the movement?

Would it be the throttle grip tube or slip rings(I guess)/ contacts for the heater ?

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Not sure of the answer, I've had heated grips for a just about a year on my bike and have no real issues yet. I do notice that if I let go of the barrel it will snap closed except for the last little bit or rotation. Never a problem when riding so I've not really worried about it but I check it from time to time to ensure it's not becoming a problem.

I've only had the bike a few weeks. I'm still learning it.
The heated grips were a bonus as the shop didn't know they were installed.

I finish work at 1.00 today, then off to Cornerspeed Ducati in Nottinghamshire for a Rexxer remap (Wehey!)(surging issue)
So I will enquire with them about the throttle motion.

Since you're going to the dealer, I would let them take the throttle apart. It looks simple to reassemble, but...it's not the one stupid thing you want preventing you from riding, like what almost happened to me.

I had some sticking after I reassembled my throttle. Turned out to be throttle lock (Atlas) under certain conditions could put enough pressure on the tube to prevent smooth spring movement. I don't know much about the heated grips, but the tube is thin plastic and can be compressed enough to cause friction on the bar.

I will ask them.

It's not really bad and I'd not noticed in regular riding.
It's only when (stood in garage) trying to turn the throttle in very slow tiny increments it sticks/released a fraction.
Not sure how that translates into road riding but I'd prefer it silky-smooth.
The return spring seems very strong (compared to the soggy old examples on my previous carbureted bikes)

Thanks Gatdammit. - I've been doing a lot of reading on here and appreciate you have contributed a lot of your experience with these bikes.
