Sadly, none of these companies have any word - at least to my knowledge - with regards to manufacturing accessories for the Hyperstrada. Even Touratech alone taking on the Hyperstrada would be a blessing. Does anybody know if Touratech or the others will play ?

BMW involves TT so much in the process that they have the accessories ready the day a product is out. Creates huge customization chances, is an endorsement in and of itself and is a big motivator for the early adopters; which, in the case of the Hyperstrada, is not there.

AltRider is another one I would like to see carry items for this. I suspect that unless Ducati requests the aftermarket participate it will be the middle of the hear before we start seeing farkles for the bike.

Tours tech

I'm wondering if that tours tech GPS handlebar mount that fits the multistrada will fit the hyperstrada. I hope so since I have their very cool locking mount for my Garmin 665.

I just had a look at the current touratech TravelTime magazine - parts for the hyperstrada are being worked on.

As for the GPS mount: I personally own a 2013 hypermotard sp and did some fiddling.

You can use the GPS mount that touratech supplies for the BMW F800R and use that (with 2 washers); or you use a ram-mount screw replacement for one of the handlebar-screws. See mounting pics (sorry for the bad quality) - I can post more and give more detailed information if you're interested.

GPS power is drawn from the GPS connector (the CAN-bus one) hidden unter the dash; I used touratech superseal connectors for that (the orange plug is just a 'blind' insulation plug for when no GPS is attached).

The picture showing the touratech mount alone is my final travel setup. For day-to-day use I use the RAM-mount.

Emailed sw motech and they have not looked to much into accessories yet either. I was specifically asking for crash bars.

I have not heard of anyone working on engine guards as of yet. Strada Avventurosa told me they would if they could get their hands on a bike, anyone in the Indianapolis area want to let them do some design work?

Email to Touratech

I sent a email to touratech and got this reply:

Hello,
As of now, we have not heard of any plans from Touratech Germany for Hyperstrada parts.

that being what it is, I will probably buy a multistrada pannier rack and modify it to fit my hyperstrada along with the top rack and box.

That sounds like the canned response I got from them, we need to keep asking....
