? Twist in Handlebar Mounts

Hi there I wonder if as a newbie I could ask for advice. Had a 5mph impact on the Hyperstrada into the side of a car (their fault). Didnt notice any damage at first but got home and then noticed that with wheel straight, the forks are straight and not rotated or dropped, the bars arent bent but it seems as though one side of the mountings that fix the handlebars into the fork yoke(?) have rotated.

Thanks in advance

You probably bent the bolt or the mounts. The mounting system is flimsy at best from the factory.

One time I was at the dealership looking at a brand new Hyperstrada and noticed that the bars were twisted exactly as you describe. It was very noticeable. I told the salesman, he came over, straddled the front wheel with his legs and just twisted it straight. O_O

They are flimsy. Give it a good twist.

I don't know about flimsy, but I did the same just yesterday after dropping my bike in my garage. The rubbers took the impact without permanent damage. I'd call that a good thing.

after a couple crashes with my supermoto and dirt bike I would have a similar situation. Nothing was actually bent and all I would do is loosen all the bolts in the front end, get things straightened out with the front end so bars and forks where in sink again and retighten. It was never anything permanently damaged. hopefully that's all it is for you.

I bent mine just by having it strapped down in a truck and driving threw bumpy *** roads in NYC. Mine bent at the clamp. I just took it off and laid it flat and bent it back.
