What do you have your pre-load set to?

I currently have mine right in the middle of soft and hard. It's 18 full clicks (36 half-clicks) from full soft to full hard and I've got mine at 9 full clicks up from full soft right now.

Thinking about dialing it all the way down to full soft and seeing what it's like. Wondering if doing so will drop the seat height a tad once I'm sitting on it, as that would be nice.

Curious what you guys have yours set to.

7 from full hard. 1/2 turn from full hard on compression screw.

I ran much softer initially and it will make the back end squirrelly if you upset the line at high speed; possibly exacerbated with 10 lbs or so in the bags.

If you want to learn more about this, google "set up your sag motorcycle".

I am quite heavy (105 kg).
Normal driving, full soft.
Full loads in the bags, middle
Curvy roads or track(much leaning), full hard to get as much ground clearance as possible
This settings works for me though it is not as recommended by "set up your sag motorcycle" websites.

Thanks for the info!

What's typically recommended for light guys like me? I'm only about 59 kg.

set up your sag to your weight, and use that as your starting point.
get some miles under your belt and then try adjusting a little a time and see how the bike feels, also you will need to adjust firmer if bike loaded. Its all personal preference.
Take StefanR's advice and read up on adjusting suspension, lots of good youtube vids by

Ignore the number of turns, just look at the top of the shock - you can see and measure the actual preload. I ran mine at 5mm until I put the Q3s on; the rear is taller so it's back to zero.

That's a rebound adjuster, not compression...should be adjusted to suit the spring rate and riding style. The preload has no effect on spring rate, only on ride height.

Anyone know how much the ride height increases from full soft to full hard?
