Just did my first trip on my Hyper this past week. Nice loop in CO we did, including the Million Dollar Hwy. Learned a few things on this trip.
Bike is not great at 80 MPH, much less 90 MPH or the 130 MPH I found myself at on occasion. Tall windshield isn't enough. Bike front end can wobble a bit above 115 MPH. Keeping weight on/over the handlebars does help. Need to stop doing this or get a steering damper. Right now it will have to be the former. Think I need to drop the fork tubes through the trees a little and reset the sag. Ran the original Scorpions, now showing significant wear but grip better than I expected (my friend had Q3s). Really would like a cruise control.
I LOVE THIS BIKE on curvy roads, even sweepers, even with hard bags loaded. Suspension upgrades are sweet. I was riding with a fella with a Pikes Peak Multistrada and it rolls. I have to be on full boil to pass with him and forget it once there's a straight and he doesn't get the shakes (he's been to 150 MPH without any shakes). The Remus sounds good, even with the baffle in and that quickshifter is my friend.
Still want that clutch. Cannot complain about the brakes now. I really think I'm going to look into a piggyback for the engine or something to take out some of the leanest.
2-up is OK, not great. Passenger pegs with bags keep her feet too forward. needs about 2 inches forward to work for her as hoped. No matter, this will never be a great 2 up bike for me and her. Shorter stuff is fine.
Didn't need the extra gas. I burned 2.8 gal when my friends Multistrade burned 3.5 gal, which seemsed to make up for my being down a gal from him.
Oh yeh, this bike doesn't work with just any tank bag, needs to be much smaller than the one I have. I should check my mileage (we rode like mad men).
