Thinking about a new HS but wondering if i,ll fit on it ok. I am 60, 5'9" and about 210. I have had a drz400sm years back, a Triumph Tiger 800 recently, and will be getting off a HD if I decide to do it. Love the look of the bike and miss the adventure style bike. Plus the power and light weight.

Hmm, it's actually the second time I answer such question this week.
My height is 172cm (5'6'') but the height that matters most is the one at the inseam. Mine is roughly 84cm (33'') with flat shoes.

I'm 5'11 with a 31 inch inseam and i managed on the std hyperstrada my short legs made the decision for me over the multistrada/hyperstrada choice. I love it no regrets so far and i also had a Tiger 800 and prefer the hyper's light weight and agility. Good luck.

You should visit a dealer and try one out. I am really long in the leg, 6'1", but a young friend who is 5'9" and 220 had no trouble riding mine. Getting your leg over will be the hardest!
I have had a HD tourer since '05, and I can tell you that you will not believe how strong an 821 is! Much more like your DRZ, with double the ponies. Be sure to budget for some fork work, though. The rear shock is not bad, and the hydraulic preload is handy.

there is a low seat option but I agree with Zippy - getting your leg over the bags is the hardest part!

Yeah I had bags on my triumph Tiger so probably the same deal. Hard to get past the bag without dragging a boot on it. Thanks so much for the info. I am going to pick the bike up next week.
