Picked up my new Strada from Bentley Motorrad in Kelowna, BC on Thursday. Took the Greyhound to Kelowna from Nelson, BC ,the sales manager picked me up at the Bus Depot. Two hours later I was insured and licensed and the dealer had my $$$.
Checked into a Super 8 for the night then headed out for a pre-dinner ride on the Westside Rd(twisty route on West side of Okanagan LAke and a great trst for the HS). Took a little getting used to the riding position and ride by wore throttle but I was having lots of fun very quickly. Made it back to the motel for some quality time with the Owners Manual.
Friday AM after an early "continental" breakfast at the motel headed back to the dealer where I had left my sandals in the previous aftenoon's excitement. A little more quality time with the manual and familiarizing myself with all the buttons before I once again headed up the Westside Road and Vernon where I caught Hwy 6, The Monashee,(one of the top rated DH's in BC) back towards Nelson(home) and the Kootenays. . As I have said to a lot of people in the last couple of days, more smiles/mile than I've had in a long time, and even keeping the revs under 6000!
Unfortunately don't get to ride the HS for a week cause the SO and I are in Edmonton on a family visit. However, I do have the 1000km service booked for not long aftert our return and will do the reverse of the route just taken. Can hardly wait.
