Planning for August. Any tips for this trip, like whether there are enough gas stations within the range the tank, or if I need to bring spare fuel? Recommended places for food and shelter (or more importantly, places to avoid)?

Very conservative riding because of the traffic and enforcement. 40 degrees in the AM and 60 in the afternoon. Pirelli Rosso III are the very best tires I've had on the bike. Speedo is very close to accurate, turn-in is linear, and very confidence inspiring. Can't wait to get to roads I know...
