Flapper Valve disconnect on 2013 equals no starting from hot rest

So for a week I had played with the exhaust flapper valve disconnected under the seat (wires harness only.) I liked the way it ran, and it appears to be smoother in the low revs.. But during our heat wave this week 102F.. I started the bike from a days rest and it kept stalling gout as the...

How to RECONNECT exhaust flapper valve?

I just purchased a new (to me) 2014 HS. It has a great slip-on but... it's quite loud. How does one "reconnect" the exhaust flapper valve? It still "sweeps" during startup btw, so the cable IS connected... But it doesn't actually seem to close the valve when the bike is running... I hear...

    Valve shimming.

I have the bike apart to swap the belt covers so I decided to check the valve clearances. Looks like I have bigger numbers on every valve. Rear shock air valve?

I haven't found any info in my owners manual on that little air canister (beside the rear power outlet), which appears to be part of the rear shock. It has a Schrader valve on it, but I don't know if a specific air pressure should be maintained? Am I missing something?

Valve checks. What's your guess in cost?

I'm likeing this bike more and more that I look at it and the initial price isn't to bad seeing as how you get a lot of stuff for that price. My biggest concern is how much maintenance will cost me. I've never owned a Ducati and I have done nearly all maintenance on my bikes in the past...
