Lost vertical cylinder cam timing somehow.... :(

Does the “error” message appears on the dashboard? If so you can read the error code by accessing the settings menu.

Lost vertical cylinder cam timing somehow.... :(

It shows a code and a short description. You need to search the error codes meaning. You need the ELM interface and the connector to the ecu diag port. Lonelec provides the cables that works with Melcodiag. https://www.lonelec.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=90

Lost vertical cylinder cam timing somehow.... :(

These are my vertical markings with Horizontal on TDC (aligned the dot in the cam driving gear with the notch in the clutch cover). Look that the “inverted T” points up. Maybe you offset the markings in the vertical belt while replacing it?

"Error" and all dash lights flashing, Fan Turns on, No Start...

Good to know. Go after the eldor coils and do the swap so it won’t happen again.

Currently doing Valve Adjustment, got some weird measurements.

I did mine with 30.000km, this is the first time I checked valve clearances. Most of the valves was within the assembly spec: 0.13-0.18 for openers, 0.05-0.10 for closers. The openers were basically on the middle of the range, but the closes most on the loose side ~0.09. I was lazy to change all...

Currently doing Valve Adjustment, got some weird measurements.

So, disabled the camshafts and replaced the shims. Put all back to spec. The left closer was way too loose. With the bigger shim on the kit (3.45) O was able to put it back to 0.09 - 0.05 was the goal but 0.09 is within the assembly spec… Took the bike for a spin and I have the impression that...

Currently doing Valve Adjustment, got some weird measurements.

I’ve got very weird measurements for openers and clores in the intake valves of the horizontal. All the other are on spec. This means vale seat problem? Intake Horizontal Left opener - 0.02 Right opener - 0.08 Left closer - 0.28 Right closer - 0.20 All in mm.

Starace RSR velocity stacks 821/939 install

@Araitim Great write up as always. I have termi’s filter housing. It has bigger opening but doesn’t have the inlet design the Starace has. Do you think that there is good improvements using the velocity stacks with it?

    good! What was the cause?

Currently doing Valve Adjustment, got some weird measurements.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try it without removing the radiator as I just did coolant change (aprox an year ago). According to desmotimes forum, the 2v and 4v 7mm valves motors share the same shims.

    Cuts out

I noticed that "M.A.E." and the firmware version appeared on my dashboard once I was updating a new map with T800. It was some sort of rebooting...

    Cuts out

I’d check battery connections if they are tight. Also check for loose connections behind the dashboard.

    What is this noise?

It’s a transformer living in there

Currently doing Valve Adjustment, got some weird measurements.

I'm about to do the belt change and valve check/adjustment myself. I watched tons of videos on testastretta valve checking/adjustment but no one about about our Hyperstradas/motards. So, some questions: 1. Do I need to remove the airbox to check vertical cylinder valves? 2. Do I need to remove...

"Error" and all dash lights flashing, Fan Turns on, No Start...

Hmm interesting. So, three pins out and three pins in. Looking at the Service bulletin video it seems that it's connected to CANH, CANL and GND. So, probably this little box should be a CI like this:

I’d guess that the “can filter” is something like this (tvs diode)

    Swing Arm Axle

I recommend doing the hear hub. At 15000km you won’t believe how much dirt and mud came out of the swingarm lower hole once the hub was removed. The hub grease was pretty dry also.

    PSA - Cracked Header Pipe

This rear cyl head pipe is cr*p. It's one of the biggest complaints for 821 owners here in Brazil (maybe bikes here run a lot hotter). I'd try to weld the heat shield back in place because fuel pump is very close to his pipe. That pipe can get incandescent, so I'd worry about it roasting the...
