    Human Popsicle Season Gear Advice?

With the heated gear, any experiences with the battery powered type? My little Suzuki doesn't have accessory power. Its stator barely makes enough juice to light all the lights at the same time. I still ride the little guy as much now as I do the HS so I thought it would be nice to have...

    Human Popsicle Season Gear Advice?

Brrrrrr..... If I sneeze my nose might shatter into tiny fragments. My cobbled together cold weather outfit isn't cutting it this season so I have saved up $1300 give or take a little for new duds. Warmer ones... So I'm looking and looking and reading reviews that I don't trust and looking at...

    Tires

Hey RSL my brand new rear TKC 80 got nailed, literally so I need another new tire. How do you like that TKC 70?

    Pennsylvania Coal Country ADV Ride

Thanks! If it had been my front wheel I'd have been in trouble since I was leaned into a hard right turn when the tire blew and had butt-riding cagers behind me. I've gotten enough back wheel flats on my little Suzuki that I've had practice with recovering from that while moving. It isn't...

    Tires

Those look like decent tires and generally positive reviews too. I wish I'd seen your reply a couple days ago as I already ordered the TKC80 again because I can't have my commuting bike out of action too long and I got a good deal on them. I'll probably need new tires again in 3K miles anyway...

    Tires

I need something a little more off-roady. Any experiences with the Avon AV84 / AV85 Trekrider?

    Tires

My back TKC80 just got destroyed by a big razor blade. The back was all worn down anyways. So, do I stick with these or do I go elsewhere? I like the traction off road but the lifespan is dismal. Anything new out there? Anybody have anything new to report on other options for dual sport tires?

    Pennsylvania Coal Country ADV Ride

I had to put off this trip in August due to starting a new job. I rescheduled it for this weekend but that plan is scratched thanks to some joker who dropped a box of utility knife blades at the intersection by my work.

    Hyper-Disaster: Triptus Interruptus

I think I spotted the Ducati guys over tightening a drain plug :p You need to get another hobby man :D

    DIY Timing belt change

That seat lock really gets in the way putting the tank back in. Takes a bit of wrangling to get past it again. I didn't disconnect my fuel lines. There's a load of slack in them, enough to turn the tank sideways and rest it where the seat should be.

How the heck do I change the headlight?

I'm guessing my wrenches aren't up to the job. I'll hit the hardware store and see what if anything they have better. I'll try the tape too. I'm going up to the mountains again this weekend and really need this dang oil changed.... I'd rather replace the air filter all over again, it was easier...

How the heck do I change the headlight?

Yeah this thing is a joke. If I ever get it off It's getting replaced with something that makes sense in this application. I've applied penetrating oil but I don't know what good it will do with the crush washer in the way.

How the heck do I change the headlight?

I tried to change my oil today and I can't get the drain plug loose for the life of me. If I put any more torque on it it's going to strip the head. Why use an allen head here? Anybody here have this problem?

How the heck do I change the headlight?

And of course my ******* neighbor that nearly ran me over with his pickup and never apologized kept coming out and revving up his obnoxiously loud garage queen hog while I was working on my bike. Now he just made a big show of actually riding the thing down the alley. Whatever, I go through a...

How the heck do I change the headlight?

Oh yeah, now I remember. And I thought something was missing when I put that bolt back in too - DOH! Ok let me go put it back on there... Thanks!

How the heck do I change the headlight?

I tried without removing the regulator but the right side screw was still impossible to reach. Luckily the regulator just slides right out! Easy peasy Japanesey. So it's all back together now. What a journey. Then when I moved the bike I discovered a large thick fender washer on the ground...

How the heck do I change the headlight?

i went to the hardware store and got a regular screwdriver with a star drive type head. I could get the left side one off with that. The angle was too great on the right side. Then I discovered the regulator just slides out of its mounts. Back to the 1/4" socket and I had it. So what if I have a...

How the heck do I change the headlight?

How the F**K do I get those last two screws on the handlebar side of the air box cover? I can't even fit the socket alone in there! Do I need to take out the voltage regulator? It doesn't even look to be enough room without that there.

How the heck do I change the headlight?

The bike just hit 8K. It had 5700+ when I bought it in March so its gotten a fair amount of riding and some of that has been off-road. The last few off-road rides were pretty dusty ones and lately the engine seems to be running rough and throttle response has gotten more poor than usual. Plus...
