Hyperstrada 821 2013 "Christmas tree dash" problem

Voltage regulators are used to getting hot because, as I understand it, they dump excess electrical power as heat so I doubt this is the problem. Much more likely is that the original Beru coils have fried the dash and/or the ECU. Taking the bike to Ducati is going to result in an astronomical...

Hyperstrada 821 2013 "Christmas tree dash" problem

Sounds bad, but the bike runs OK? I guess you will have read the info on here about the Christmas tree dash effect and probable causes, which mostly come down to the original Beru ignition coils feeding noise back into the dash. Has your bike been through the remedial process for that, adding...

Any UK Strada-ists waiting for Brook suspension/ Adriani/ new forks?

That's tough, Alan. I went for the full Nitron kit and my mech Carl made no comment about problems beyond the usual one of the result not really matching the requirement of supple suspension for a light rider. I've backed-off all compression damping f & r and reduced preload as much as possible...

Fuelling mods; Booster plug and Rapid Bike Easy

The fuelling of my 2013 HS 821 was never especially troublesome when I got it at 8K miles, but in light of all the problems others reported, I was intrigued to see if mine could be improved. First I fitted a Booster Plug, but found little-to-no effect so took it off and got my expert mechanic to...

Auto blipper Idiosyncracy - Maybe a safety issue ??

May the clutch lever switch simply be an interlock for starting? I know nuffing about auto blippers!

Auto blipper Idiosyncracy - Maybe a safety issue ??

Not necessarily relevant to this tricky problem, but I've always found it vital to adjust the gear lever so that I get full travel effortlessly. I had a Monster 750 that the new owner claimed was giving false neutrals between gears and I'm certain it was only that his foot and ankle angle...

    Chain tension

The chain slack depends on whether you have the standard bike or the factory-lowered version. If the swingarm is angled sharply downwards as may be the case with a raised ride height, you need more slack or the gearbox bearings will wear out. Others will know the various measurements as per the...

Ducati Hypermotard 821 clutch fix - the definitive guide

Glad you finally got it installed Alan! Hopefully the clutch is less aggressive now or was yours tolerable before? Must have been... Nick

Anyone installed the Termignoni Exhaust for Hypermotard 698 Mono?

Does Ducati realise what it has unleashed on the world? All this talk of excessively-loud exhausts and wheelies is quite unsavoury to me, but I guess the demographic for this bike doesn't include old geezers like me. ;)

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

Probably several causes for poor hot-starting, but one we know of is the power draw caused by a failing starter motor. The later Denso starters are much better engineered.

What have you done to your Hypermotard 698 today?

Yes, I'm hoping Ducati puts this motor into something more mellow and suitable for older riders who simply appreciate single-cylinder bikes as well as twins. Sadly, I fear that wouldn't be sexy enough for the marketing department, even if it were possible to tune the motor accordingly.

Shifting Spring and Downshifting Gears Problems - Hyper 821

Gotta be clutch drag surely. More time spent on cable adjustment required.

BoosterPlug Fuel Injection Tuning for the Hypermotard-Hyperstrada

Hi HyperTom, I have a virtually-unused Booster Plug you could have half-price if you wanted it. Can't say it helped my 821 though, so I went for a Rapid-Bike Easy instead. PM me if you want to discuss it. Nick, Diss, UK

Rear Reat popping up after each ride on the Hypermotard 698 Mono

I wonder if the central section of the seat is not supported enough to take the weight of you lucky owners, and the base just flexes and pings the back fixing out?

LED Headlight Upgrade for Hyperstrada 939

Just a plea from a fellow road-user, two-wheeled and four. Please don't ride with all your spotlights and high-beam full on in the daytime! That amount of illumination really isn't necessary for you to be seen, and it means other road-users can't afford to look at you to gauge your speed and...

LED Headlight Upgrade for Hyperstrada 939

LED bulbs can work well in headlights designed for halogen, but only if the LED designer has that as a priority. Look for two (only) faces to the emitter carrier, which should be as slim as possible. Also, the LED bulb will need to be able to be twisted in it's socket to adjust for the...

What function is this Hypermotard 821 wiring connector?

Only a guess, but it might be access for ECU reader, or perhaps a diode in a circuit. Not likely to be battery-charging connection being hidden away. Someone will know!

BoosterPlug Fuel Injection Tuning for the Hypermotard-Hyperstrada

Franky I've no idea about DTC or ABS settings, but the major difference in Touring versus Sport is the throttle response at the bottom end. Cracking the throttle in Touring gives a very gentle increase in power, ideal for tricky road conditions or even for two-up riding, followed by a phenomenal...
