The SP tends to go for a few thousand more than the strada or base motard. If it was in good shape you might have been able to get a bit more for it, but that model year also had it's issues with the clutch and potential ECU issues so it's not an unreasonable price given the mileage.

To be honest, the Hyperstrada / Motards aren't really good bikes for 2-up riding, particularly if one of more of the passengers are on the larger side. Multi is gonna be a better option.

35,000 miles on my 2018 and no issues with the ECU. It does have something going on with a MAP sensor that occasionally annoys me by dropping it into limp mode, but that's a different story.

Unless your conversion made the suspension as tall as the SP version, I think the standard height Hyperstrada was the same as the base Hypermotard as far as suspension travel goes.

I've had the timing belt housing briefly submerged a few times on my bike at water crossings, no issues so far. I suspect the chain and sprockets would far as well as any ADV bikes.

Best way to deal with the surging issue is a tune, the stock tune is pretty problematic on these bikes.

Yeah there's always a little extra sloshing around in there, annoying. Impressive mileage, my light comes on around 80 - 90 and I've run dry around 130 or so, as such I try to avoid pushing my luck.

Ah got it. Another thought, I recall someone mentioning taking their airbox off and finding the rubber intake boots were deformed and a lot of dirt build up on the intake / butterfly. Could be worth a look.

Might just be the TPS needing to be reset, unfortunately you'll need the dealer to do this.

I've run mine completely dry and never managed to put a full 4 gallons in there, I suspect there is somewhere in the tank that the pump can't reach. The reserve light pops around 80 miles for me and I can usually got another 25 to 30 miles before things get iffy.
