adjustable clutch?

This week, my long awaited clutch and brake levers, arrived from PUIG.
Nice. :D:):D:):D:)

Fits my short fingers perfectly.

Hi Stefan, these look great. Can you post a link to the products? How long did they take to arrive?
Thanks, Alan

Just found them here Puig For the bike model Ducati HYPERSTRADA 2013 | Puig

With the hand guards I am not sure of hte point of foldable. The unfoldable in black with the black or sliver adjuster seem to come in at €31.70 +VAT which sounds a bargain.

I just ordered one from Hong Kong for £38 so I'll see what that's like when it arrives.

This thread is a duplicate of another on this forum. I've put Pazzos on my Strada (they are the same as for a regular Hypermotard) and some cheap Chinese copies on my wife's SV650. The may look similar, but there is no comparison in quality. The Pazzos have nice fine steps in the adjustment, the Chinese ones are much more coarse. Overall fit and finish are better, too.

I like the Pazzo levers. Both on sale $149.99. Here's a link.

For those that don't know yet, there is a very tiny plastic cylinder piece that is in the brake lever pressing against the brake light switch. This button also tells the computer if the brake is released when changing riding modes. When the button is pressed, the brake lights go out and riding modes can be changed. If the little plastic piece is not there, brakes will be considered always on. I learned the hard way. During assembly didn't see it fall out. I wondered what that shiny nice little black plastic part was on the garage floor before I threw it away. When I realized everything and how the brake lever controls the computer and brake lights I remembered that little black part I threw away! So I used my 3d printer to print another one.:p

Back to the levers. The whole transaction was very smooth. Usually I spend hours over days researching before I buy stuff like this. These just 'happened'. I didn't know racing levers would be this fun. Really changed the feel of the bike. I'm impressed and surprised.

I actually needed the shorty levers after I broke my handguard and replaced them with Acerbis handguards. Stock levers wouldn't fit in the new handguards so I used it as a reason to buy the Pazzo shorty levers. Oh, and I vinyl wrapped the handguards to hide Acerbis vulgar advertising. Sheesh those are some big letters.:confused: Acerbis would need to pay me for that kind of advertising!

The added weight of the metal in the Acerbis handguards changes handling and turning. I guess it's probably like bar weights. I've never had bar weights. Anybody know about the effects of bar weights, good thing for the Hyper?

I have the Pazzo's too but, I didn't notice any small parts falling out. I checked the parts catalog and found a small part (part no. 22 on the attached drawing). Is this what you are talking about? Ducati calls it "rubber pad".

Looking at the drawing, It's difficult to tell just where or how that little piece fits on the brake perch. I better check my bike when I get home. That thing may have fallen out, not sure. I'm leaving tomorrow for the Tail of the Dragon US129. It should be a great weekend of riding!

Yeah, that's it! Part no. 22. Thank you, jmatt for posting that picture.

I didn't think I needed the service manual to change the levers.:(

Is that high-tech or poor design? The entire mechanism there is delicate with tiny delicate plastic pins.

It all works great as long as nobody messes with it. Not very rugged though for a bike made to go offroad, IMO.
Folding levers might be the way to go if you keep the stock handguards considering how easy my handguard broke off in both places hanging there from the signal wires after laying it down in the dirt at a very slow speed.

Joe, can you get all fingers around the short levers? I don't think the short levers are in danger of connecting with the dirt or tarmac if it goes down.

We need somebody to lay their bike down and let everyone know if the short levers touch ground. Anyone?

No volunteer here I'm afraid:D

I will report back on my conversion in due course, waiting for parts deliveries:cool:

Did you find an adjustable clutch lever to match oem?

No afraid not, I have always preferred the short levers, I found a full generic set of adjustable aluminium levers complete with perches, brake light and clutch switches, handlebar mounts and a rather nice bit of anodised aluminium on the brake fluid bottle (which will get rid of the leaky OEM fluid seal) So basically I am gonna change the lot.
All for the bargain price of U$ 65.00

Waiting for the parts to arrive from abroad, which can take an age down here, but I will post up some pics when they do.

I recently fitted these clutch and brake levers after ordering them on ebay (I was desperate as I have small hands). The OEM brake lever even though adjustable was still a little wide for me but liveable with but the clutch was a real pain.

I was really looking for just a clutch lever but they sent both and they have completely transformed the feel of the bike. It really is an incredible difference, far past my expectations. Link here Touring Footpeg, CNC Billet Foot Pegs items in M-Factory Store store on eBay!

They were an unbelievable £38 which I thought was for one but both arrived. Delivery was 2 weeks as they are from China. The fit and quality is excellent. They are extendable and fold on impact. The adjustment range is excellent and they look pretty cool too. If they were £38 each they'd still be a bargain.

I've done 800 miles with them now and I've never enjoyed the bike so much. If you're a spirited rider then this is the best upgrade you can add to your Hyperstrada by a long way.

Enjoy. More pics available if anyone wants them.

I expect this is the same part that I have coming in the mail, but with all the clamps, bottles, adjusters etc. I will post pics when mine arrive.
It is strike season over here at the minute, the Post Office has been out for 7 weeks, so God only knows when they will finally get here. Fondly referred to here as "African Time"

Did you check them for spyware?

They don't look cheap, and really cheap Chinese farkles are usually easy to spot. I need to do this. I have to keep my add-ons to the "need" side of the paper for the time being.

Please explain, maybe I am being a bit dumb, are you referring to Spyware on the web site where the guy bought the levers?

These are the parts I found.
I may replace the gnarly fluid bottle in due course.

Gat is referring to that infamous spy center in Shanghai. Fortunately, there are no commercial or military secrets on my computer.

When I bought the cheapies for our SV they arrived in a week. Shipping seems better these days!

Yeah, there was a case where a security firm found embedded spyware in Chinese manufactured electronics. That, and they've probably hacked our (US) entire commercial and/or military industrial base.
