Antigravity lithium battery

My new battery arrived yesterday. After much consideration I went with the Antigravity because of the super high CCA(cold cranking amps). My current battery is the original AMG, so it's been in the bike since 2013. I have messed with a bunch of lithium batteries over the years, installing them into a few different bikes. Another selling point for me on this battery is the amount of positive reviews and that they (supposedlily) are ok for colder climates. I live in mid Michigan and try to ride year round. It gets below zeroÂ° F here through the winters. My most recent lithium battery in my previous bike was an 8 cell Ballistic. I didnt realize that they are not the battery to have for colder climates and from what I read the company doesnt care about the customer. I never had an issue with the Ballistic but at home the bike was in a heated garage and at work the bike was in a heated garage.
First thought on the Antigravity, it feels heavier than any of the other lithium batteries that I have messed with and it is actually the same size as the OEM AMG battery that was in the bike. Usually lithium are alot smaller. I'm thinking that the additional circuitry in this battery is what is causing the added weight and bulk. I read the dimensions before purchase so I should have known but I was thinking it might have been a typo. Neither of the things I mentioned are a deal breaker for me, just something to note. We will see how it performs. The weight difference between the 2 batteries, 6.64lbs

Thank-you for providing information on the updated battery.

Interesting feature as voltage is critical to the life of a lithium battery. Having a means to preserve the life of the battery when a parasitic draw reduces the charge is very helpful.

Wonder if anyone has installed a smaller form factor lithium. It would be great to have a little extra storage under the seat.

On the Hypermotard America Facebook page there are a few there that are using the lesser known brands with good luck and they are smaller. They were saying that they used foam and wood to make up the space. I think it would be a perfect place for a rapidbike or power commander module.

I have a couple of Antigravity batteries. They normally offer an OEM as well has the small form factor in the same power offering. I used the small form factor for a while with foam then bought a OEM size as I gave the small one away to a cousin who had a dead battery.

Im using the Shorai lithium batt. Its half the size of the original. And will give you some extra room, which is sorely needed on the hyper. Comes with foam inserts that would fill that extra room. But I only used half so it still gave me some enough room for wiring and to put my accessories power controller. And I was amazed how the weight reduction actually helped turn in speed. All that weight off the back end of the bike was very noticeable.

+1 It might not be "half" the size but significantly smaller and makes room just as saken says, so far it's been good, my weak starting of late I'm attributing to the crappy starter that came on these bikes, that Nipendenso replacement is going in soon...

My bike has also started to suffer from poor/weak starting attributed to the POS taiwan made starter motor. Noticable got worse around 11000 kms. Once I find the part number I will be replacing mine with a Denso one. They can be pretty pricey brand new though.
