Last sunday I want to make a trip with my wife. Ignition on, engine did not start. Half hour on the batterij charger = Bike started.
We made a nice trip (about 100km) before we stopped for a drink. After half hour bike started laborious. But we got home.
After 4 hours on the battery charger the bike started no more. Battery on the dash was 12,5V but no engine running. With jumper cables the bike started.
Result: after 4200km and 16 months battery defect. Pretty early! No problems at all till now.
3 weeks ago, the bike was at the dealer for 2 recalls and changing of the throttlesensor (no more than 5000 rpm in every mapping). Now this problem.
Ok, It's all warranty but I have one of the first chassis so I hope not more problems.
I have a charging point (USB) on the battery for my Iphone/GPS placed by the dealer. I also use a CTEK XS800 battery charger for my bikes. Could one of these things be the problem. I had the same battery problem with my Honda a few years ago when I used this charger. (Normal charger for motorbikes).
