Brake and clutch levers

Hey guys
As anyone fitted aftermarket levers on their bike. Down here in South Africa it can be really hard to get custom parts and most "luxury" items are imported.

I have always fitted the anodised folding type levers on my previous bikes, but I am battling to find the right parts fro the Strada.

Please help.

I installed adjustable levers from Pazzo Racing (part numbers DB-12/D-82), on my Hyperstrada. I wanted to get the clutch lever closer to the bar for two finger operation. They worked just as I wanted them to and, the fitment is very good. The levers are available in two different lengths and there is an option for folding or non-folding. I chose short, non-folding for both clutch and brake. For color, I went with black with red adjuster tab. They improved the function and looks of the bike. Its a shame they are hidden behind hand guards!

Thanks for the tip, jmatt! Have a set on the way. I tend to get cramps in my clutch hand, being able to adjust the lever will help. I went with long, black, and TI adjusters. Didn't see an option for folding, maybe because of the handguards.

I saw the post, but the Rizomas (heck, pretty much all of their catalog) are beyond my budget for this particular farkle. The Pazzos cost 2/3, and I don't crash much...on the street.

Thanks guys, I will do a little research on the web

Got the Pazzos installed. The only problem I had was that there is a tiny black plastic spacer between the brake actuator pin and the brake light switch that fell out, would be easy to lose. Will take a test ride later, but they fit well, look great, and have much more adjustability than the stock brake lever. They were $201, deiivered.

I greased the pivot pins, cable end, and took the opportunity to lube the clutch cable. Hi, NurseDad! I am very fond of Aero-Kroil, could not work on old bikes without it. It all works much more smoothly now.

zclutch Lever Safety Switch

On these options does the safety switch on the clutch lever still operate or do you have to remove it.

I did not see any switch near the stock clutch lever/perch assembly. Both levers were easy to install. There is a brake light switch held in place by the brake lever pivot bolt that must be re-installed but other than that, piece of cake!

Just make sure you grease the pivot bolts and clutch cable end.

vincep, I understand what you are talking about now. I found it on page 80 of the parts catalog.

No, you do not have to remove the safety switch when installing the new clutch lever. The switch will still operate as normal.

Zippy, I didn't see the tiny spacer on the brake side. Hopefully mine didn't fall out:eek: Do you know what its function is?

For those reading this thread and are changing levers, the little black brake lever part is mentioned in this thread http://hyperstrada.com/ducati-hyperstrada/212-adjustable-clutch-3.html#post11543

It's part no. 22 on page 84 of front brake system drawing. Without the part, the brake lights will be always on and it will not be possible to switch riding modes while moving because the computer will think the brakes are on.

Ok so I gave up trying to find parts in South Africa and ordered a set in from abroad.
But I went the other route and bought the complete assemblies to fit on the handlebars, which means I can remove the OEM levers, brackets and "leaky" brake fluid reservoir and replace the lot with anodised aluminium. Maybe a better set of mirrors is also called for:)

I will post some pics when the parts arrive:cool:

Anyone here tried the Rizomas? I'm decided on getting new brake/clutch levers, but not sure whether to go Rizoma, or Pazzo.

Can't say personally but quite a few members have their gear. I think they have the best looking parts and I really want their frame sliders but, I don't think the price is justified.

Assuming I have the money, does the quality match the price? :D

You can get ebay ones for 30 - 50$ US a pair. On another thread they're discussed positively. In the age of cnc it's not hard to make a parts like these, and make them well.

I go to the Chinese ebay stores for cnc aluminum camera gear - it's been very good at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of other stuff.

Rizoma seems excruciatingly expensive whatever they offer. Their brembo brake clamp is $60. I ordered the brembo part from Australia that is half the price including shipping. I don't get it.
