Brake light intermittent with front brake

Morning all, new owner here (2013 hyper), first ride this morning since picking her up. I noticed the brake light works only now and again with the front brake, works perfectly with the back brake. Any ideas? I'm guessing trace the wires or give the switch a spray at the lever?

Does the bike have aftermarket levers? Regardless, it's probably the switch, either the levers installed don't contact the brake light switch firmly, or the switch itself has dirty contacts and needs to be cleaned or replaced.

front and back have 2 separate switches for the brake light.

I write without looking at my HS, but with a lot of bikes the microswitch mounted at the brake lever can be shifted slightly to get the plunger to contact the lever pad properly and in good time, ie as soon as you start pulling the lever. As n4te implied, people changing levers often lose the little plunger that contacts the switch.
