Hi everyone,

A couple months ago I bought a '13 Triumph Street Triple R, and while it was loads of fun and a great bike, I quickly found that it wasn't what I was looking for in a motorcycle. I commute to work as much as I can, and I have plans of taking longer trips with my bike. Both things that made the Triumph not make much sense. I could have added bags and such, but then it just took away from what the bike really was.

So I stopped by my local Ducati dealership and made a deal that worked for both parties on a new Hyperstrada. I struggled to decide on whether to go with white or red, but ultimately it came down to one simple thing for me. It was my first Ducati, it had to be red. It won't be my last, so maybe the future holds a different color for me, but for now, red it was. Can't wait to pick it up on Tuesday.

What I came from

What I'm going to

Hi Scotty don't , i know exactky where you were coming from regarding bike choice! I had beautiful Repsol Blade which did everything I asked of it with ease, but therein lied the trouble over efficient made it feel bland. The triple R is a lovely bike and think Hyper is perfect choice for extended use in a similar way to Triumph but more practical but still loads a fun  I reckon you will really enjoy it
As Fir Hyper or base Multi ? Have a go on both then let your heart decide.I had Multi now Hyper and I much prefer Hyper, but if you tall and do regular long distance work two up maybe the 1200 could be more suitable :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I picked the bike up today and love it so far. It's such a different feeling riding this compared to the Triumph. It's insanely fun though.

Hiro - I very briefly considered it, but I knew I wanted a Ducati. Plus I'm not a fan of the looks of the Tiger. Too adventure looking for me.

Thank you for your reply. I considered and tried Tiger 800.
The engine was unique and nice. But I can not accept the bug like design.
I traded in my Monster 796 for HS.
To own a Ducati satisfies your mind.

Have a fun and drive safe!

Kind regards,

HiroTokyo

The tiger feels too top heavy in my opinion. The hyper just melds with your mind. But the multi makes you work a little more but.......

Hmmm...I find the Multi easier to ride. But the Hyper is just plain more fun. I bought both within a week of each other. Multi has 2,200 miles, Hyper has 4,800. :)

I did the same thing, went in to get my 2011 Triumph Speed Triple the 7500 service and while hanging around I rode the Hyperstrada and then 3 hours later was riding it away. It is an incredible fun bike to ride and the power is great all around however the Speed Triple 1050 engine is a powerhouse.

Need to sell both bike though and wish I could keep them both.
