Buying a Hyperstrada! Now where can I buy a Termi exhaust for cheap?

Just bought a 2013 Hyperstrada with only 1,000 miles on it in perfect condition for $10,000. Such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. (Or at least I'm assuming it's a great deal?) Just have to wait until the weekend to pick it up. But I know I want to get a Termi exhaust on it nearly as soon as I get it.

What's the best price around on a Termi for the Hyperstrada? Need the low one since I want it to be compatible with the saddlebags.

Also, are there any videos out there with the loudness difference of stock vs Termi with the Hyper? I found one on YouTube but it sounds almost identical so I'm guessing the baffles on the Termi system weren't removed. Is it a HUGE difference with the baffles removed, or just slightly better/louder? If the Termi with baffles removed is a 10 out of a 1 to 10 on the loudness scale, where does the stock exhaust rank?

Ranking the loudness is really subjective, but to me the Termi with the baffle removed is pretty darn loud. With the baffle in it's a bit barkier than stock, but not objectionable. Since the bike only just came out late in 2013 it's hard to imagine anyone really giving great deals on the Termi yet so the $1660 you found is probably as good as you're going to find. There are a couple other pipes out there too, but they're all pretty close to the Termi in loudness and none seem to outperform the others to any significant degree. I've Termi'd every Duc I've owned so far, but the Hyperstrada sounds pretty good so at this point I'm not in any hurry to spend the cash on the pipe. BTW, there is an updated map out for the new Hyper now so be sure your dealer has installed it on the bike. It definitely helps the fueling, especially at high speeds. It's a great bike, hope you dig it!

Thanks for the info! So are you saying the Termi's aren't worth it on the Hyper? I thought the stock exhaust sounded pretty good, but I'd love to have something louder so I'm unmistakably noticed by other cars.

I've noticed that the Termi's are leaps and bounds more expensive than other aftermarket exhausts. Any insight into why? Are the Termi's that much better? How so?

I can't for the life of me understand why such a small exhaust can costs 2,000 bucks. The FULL exhaust system on my Porsche cost less than that and it's about 10 bajillion times larger and is of top-notch quality.

Regarding the updated map, when did it come out and any idea how much the dealer will charge me to install it? And what exactly is the benefit aside from helping fueling at high speeds? And what is high speed? Over 100mph?

I optioned my Hyper with the Termi slip on from new and had it fitted at first service. It comes with decibel killers but I have not fitted them as I don't find it much louder than the standard (mind you I am deaf enough to wear hearing aids). It is no where near as loud as the Termis fitted to my Monster (again I don't have the decibel killers in); I get paranoid ridding that anywhere within earshot of Police. Mind you I don't think either of them are anywhere near as loud as half the Harleys getting around.
I don't think it makes a great deal of difference to performance, it is a little lighter and it does sound a bit fruitier.

Guess I was just expecting something a lot louder with Termi. I have an aftermarket exhaust system on my Porsche and it sound tested at just a tick over 120 decibles at full revs at a standstill. The Hyperstrada with stock exhaust system probably isn't even over 100 and sounds like the Termi system is no more than 10 decibels above that. Guess I was just expecting the kind of increase in sound I got when I switched my Porsche exhaust from the OEM system to the aftermarket... MASSIVE difference.

I don't think anybody was charged for software updates, though mine was bundled with warranty work. The Hyper chugged pretty hard below 30 in low gears and HIGH engine mode was very snatchy before latest software patch. Smoothed it out a lot. The US patch also modified something with the display backlighting, though I didn't notice.

Any of you guys can hunting have data on weight savings and power figures? Simple slip-ons on older sport bikes were worth the exorbitant prices when they shed 5 lbs and added 15% to the power band.

Oh, most of the systems also come with a re-flash as you lose the flapper valve in the stock system. That might have something to do with high prices. Pretty sure someone on here has a Termi.

Wasn't a demo... one owner... guy bought it new and after 6 months he's only put 950 miles on it and has a small 1 car garage and wants more space in his garage. Really lucky to have found such a good deal... I will enjoy the bike that much more!
