Hi

What are you guys using when cleaning the bike?
Degreasing, shampoo, sponge, etc.

And how do you do to make the bike look "new" as long as possible?

I use S100 cleaner. Spray it on hose it off. Then I use S100 Detail & Wax to shine things up. I'm not really concerned with showroom clean. I only do the hose thing a couple times a year maybe. I do use the spray Detail & Wax stuff more frequently to kind of keep up. I am definitely the kind of guy that spends more time riding than cleaning.

I use Protect All after a wash. It's one of those all-in-one protector/wax. Works very well on all materials, including seat and glass. Not too shiny, either. Makes the black parts, especially the wheels, look fantastic. Claims to be good UV blocker, which will help with seat and black plastic bits.

I get rained on 90% of the time I ride so not as anal as I used to be. She gets a bath every 2 weeks on average. Trying to get better about cleaning chain each wash. I like that it has that daily driver look to it. You can certainly tell the bikes that only come out on Sunday morning...

Muc-off through a karcher jet wash with foam nozzle.....looks like its been snowed on! Leave it for a couple of minutes then rinse off. Followed by a bucket and sponge with turtle wax.

Then once very few months I use Mer to polish.

Works great for me.

Does anyone know about any cleaning product for black plastics that protects from the sun, keeps the shiny and doesnt attract dust?

Autoglym do a cleaner/protector called Autoglym Bumper Care, its very easy to use and gives good results

My dealer recommended Protect All. It's got UV blocker tags all over it.

My problem is not the plastic but the fabric on the bags. Stuff is fading fast.

A mix of:

-Wind screen wash (!)
-Washing up liquid
-Muc off
-Sometimes a bit of turtle wax

Mix it in one of these squirty bottles, eg the one the Muc off comes in.

Spray over, use some foamy soapy water and a sponge/brush.
Some might use a high pressure washer on a safe distance at their local garage nstead, should they not have access to water outside at home.

The windscreen wash liquid will take care of insects, bugs and traffic film.
The washing up liquid will take care of the greasy bits
The Muc off will support the two above and just make it more effective all together.
The turtle wax will add the wax - but don't use it on seat, display/dash or windscreen or mirrors.

Never wash in the sun.
