Deleting posts and threads

Is this even possible? I would like to remove a few threads and edit some posts but this does not even seem possible?

Am I missing something?

Unless you're an administrator to this fine website you can only edit you're own posts. I don't think you can even delete you're own posts entirely just edit them blank.

In the thread in question there is no EDIT button like on this one. I need to delete the posts as a matter of urgency.
