Denver to Casper

I am up here for work this week. Had a great ride up - beautiful, quiet and desolate (Went through Laramie). North of Laramie I hardly saw any vehicles. It was pretty easy to test out the top speed on the bike. As has been said on here before, anything over 110-120 doesn't feel very stable. I guess that's what Panigales are for...

I've been heading out every evening for a ride into the country. Made it to Alcova and Pathfinder Reservoirs last evening and Casper Mountain on Monday. Lots of wildlife. I had a few close calls with Antelope and Cows. I should probably slow down.

I see a lot of Harley riding, helmet-less rednecks in town this week on their way to Sturgis. I also ran across a group of dudes riding Chinese enduros (250cc) at my hotel. There were about a dozen of them testing out some new model bike. They were on a several thousand mile road trip that started in CA with a big Hertz truck full of parts for a support vehicle... I guess you need that with Chinese bikes ;)

Anyway here are a few photos...

Wait, are you riding to Sturgis?
Top speed, I would never implicate myself to wrong doing. So I had this dream I was loaded up with full panniers running through Texas under high winds and high temperatures that would affect fuel/air density and thus performance and my speedometer looked like it said 138 mph. The only thing I felt unstable was doing a night in County.
Do you use a radar detector? I'm considering one.

WY had no speed limits at all for a long time and if you aren't on the freeway it's extremely rare to see other cars, let alone a cop. I don't use a radar detector, and I don't speed in CO. Cops in CO are ********. I got a ticket once for 7 over, in my ****** old Nissan truck which barely goes 75.

I put the silencers in the Termi. It's about as loud as stock. I guess I don't see the point of it at all as I certainly don't care about the look.

Ha, and no I am not going to Sturgis. That is not my crowd at all. Half the people I've talked to about going there trailer their bikes up anyway, pretty lame for a "motorcycle rally"!

Are you able to report a top speed? Unless everyone goes to the track I do not think a good idea to start a thread called "top speed on your HS?".
Probably street bikes feel more stable at high speeds. I've yet to own one. I had an m696 probably doesn't count.
Still I really dont feel instability at +115mph on HS. We are sitting up higher and taking more wind...

I didn't top it out. The bike handles like ******* over 120mph - It's just not made for it.
