Did anyone try the original DP tank bag for the new hyper? How is the fit? Or can someone post some pics?
I'm considering to get it... or a good alternative.

Ducati Tank Bag

Picked mine up Friday, have not installed yet but the bag is nice and it comes with a ipad or map waterproof clear window bag that is separate from the one on the bag lid. I did try my ipad and it fits pretty much perfect, it clips on top of the bag. I will try to get some pictures and post.

I put the tank bag on today and I like it but it sure looks like it was an after thought on the mounting of it. I put the base pad on the bike and where you have to route the straps in the front are around edges while not sharp they have a defined edge. To take this thing off for washing and then reinstall will be the pita.. then I put the tank bag on and I had to shorten the connecting straps to the shortest length possible before the bag wasn't wiggling around. Dang nice bag though has a bunch a pockets around it. too bad the mounting is not better.
And to top all that off it is hitting my GPS and having to play with mounting brackets on the GPS now.

Pictures when I get through with getting my GPS mount fixed.

I found the same issues. I liked the bag, but the stupid mounting bra fit horribly. I returned it the next day.

DP tank bag

I too bought the DP tank bag and have stuck with it. i agree the bra will be a PITA to remove but what's the choice with a plastic "tank?" I've used magnetic bags for years and loved the convenience. Have not yet mounted the Zumo 550 yet but suspect it will reside on a RAM mount on the handlebars.

Installed pictures

Okay guys here is the pictures as promised. I think the solution for the GPS is solved with a tech mount, I tried to mount in the stock GPS location but hit either into the tank bag and or it was hiding the gauges.

The bag is fully expanded (stuffed some towels in it) with my ipad attached also. The bag is very nice the mounting is not the best but I think it will work just fine.

...an alternative...

Wolfman Explorer Lite Tank Bag.
Good stuff, USA made.

Pulled it off my KLR650,
used their 'universal tank bag' strap kit.

It's a little big on the Hyper, but fits well enough.

They make a few different tank bags.
I think the "enduro" model might fit nicer.

I had to get creative to mount the rear straps,
looped around subframe.
(Trying to avoid looping around frame tubes. Don't want to chafe that pretty red paint.)

It intrudes on the frontal saddle area, but only a little bit.
Not noticed with regular riding.
If I ever take this bike to the track, the bag would obviously come off.

the front straps were easy, looped around radiator mount tabs

Dear Dane1960,

Than you for the photos.
How did you do with rear straps?
I now derectly tied to the frame.

Kind regards,
