I believe they anodize the aluminum on the silencer to make it a darker shade from bare aluminum.

I'm seriously thinking about a Termi...it looks great and from what I've been told, sounds good, too. Not to mention the performance benefit. What's required aside from buying the can, sticking it on, and riding? Re-flash? New ECU? New air filter?
Thanks in advance!

I believe the Termi comes with an air filter and an 'up-map' - hence the reason why it's so bloody expensive compared to the rest. I'd have loved to go for it but the price was too steep.

I'm very, very happy with my Akrapovic mind you...

how do you like the spark? i am interested in this exhaust.

I like it a lot.. Beautifully made, saved a few pounds, sounds great.. It's just really loud. Performance wise I can't say it made a whole lot of difference (without any remapping). Other than that I'm satisfied with the purchase.. Got it for $499 from motowheels.com

Buying the Termi from the dealer pretty much means a stage one kit because it comes with the new can, air filer and re-map. But its damn expensive....

^ Well kinda..

The highmount DP Termi full exhaust (p/n 96480031A), which comes with all the exhaust piping, airbox top cover and Up-Map key. When your bike is reflashed it shows "Hyperstrada Racing" upon key on. I'd probably consider that one producing the most power.

Then you've got the highmount DP Termi slip (p/n 96480041A), which come with the silencer and a Up-Map key. According to Ducati the Up-map provides a even smoother and fuller power delivery. That map should show "Hyperstrada Performance" upon key on on the dash.

Then last but not least you've got the lowmount DP Termi slip (p/n 96480051B), which comes with the Silencer... And that's it. No Up-Map required, so upon key on you'll see "Hyperstrada" or exactly what you'd see stock.

I'd say the stages would sorta follow something like this for Ducati Termignoni;

STAGE 0 (stockish):
-factory pipe, or
-low mount Termi slip

STAGE 1:
-high mount Termi slip

STAGE 2:
-Termi full exhaust (due to airbox mods)

Oh ok gotya...Seeing as were strada's we'd have to get the low mount unless you'd only want to use the top box.... I personally dont like because of the weight it adds to the back I think the side bags are plenty for me.
