The Foggy 996 reign over WSB in the mid to late 90's was pretty epic. It was the most unique bike on the circuit and the first time I saw one in the flesh, I probably released some bodily fluids.

Yellow monoposto 748. I was in high school when the 916/748 came out and drooled over a picture of a 748 I had hung up in my room. It was many years and many other motorcycles before I finally got a Ducati... Now I'm on my 3rd!

man, the yellow 748. I was in love, even though my hooligan friends kept quoting me dollars to 1/4 mile ratios, it was just such a cool looking bike. Finally heard one and it was just so alien to me. That was when I truly thought I would never own a Duc.
I'd take an old 748 that wasn't abused. It looked like a right-sized bike for me.

Elefant!!!
Yep, indeed. The Hyper has the ghost of the Elefant, good engine, wide bars, lots of fun, lots of control.
But my favourite of that period must be the original M900, Termis and K&N stage 2 kit.

This is the bike that inspired me to look at the strada. A friend rebuilt one more to racing spec, more supermoto, and I loved it.
For me, without a doubt: the 916.
The whole picture: Foggy, the sheer looks, exhaust under the tail, WSB wins like no other bike ever.
I rode Japs (Fireblades mostly) that time, but I ONLY got goosebumps from that bike.
