In my set-up I can remove the cases as simple as it is with the original ones. Maybe I haven't described my solution clearly enough - I hope the attached picture helps.

I've been using the cases for two trips in the alps (almost 5000km) and I'm really happy with my set-up.

gotcha. sorry, i misunderstood your first post. i thought you bolted the cases directly to the pannier bracket on the bike. it wasn't very clear to me in the first photo that you used the mounting hardware from the original bags. good that it's working for you
