Going back to original windscreen- help?

Hey all! I just picked up a used 2013 hyperstrada yesterday! (more details on this later) The original owner has installed the ducati carbon fiber "windscreen". The original owner put the original windscreen in one of the panniers. I also found a mounting bracket and four bolts which I presume were the original ones for the windscreen.

I want to go back to the original windscreen. I bought the bike to do more touring oriented rides. The original owner told me he "thought" that I needed to install the other bracket (located in the pannier) to go back to the original windscreen.

Now- the two brackets appear identical to me, but I have not been able to remove the one that's on the bike. I have removed the smaller carbon windshield and managed to install the original windscreen to the bracket that was on the bike when I got it. It seems to move a bit more than it should though (the bracket itself). I have not taken her for a ride yet though.

I've been looking for videos or instructions but surprisingly I haven't had any luck. Thoughts? Are the brackets different?

Thanks!

If you have the ducati carbon windscreen then the brackets are the same. You can find a tutorial right here in this forum though. It's pretty simple! When you say it moves around, which part are you referring to? Make sure you have installed the rubber grommets on the windscreen.

Want to sell me that carbon screen and bracket for super cheap?

Ahh okay. So I'm wasting my time trying to figure out how to remove the bracket. (oops!)

Re the moving around: It's just that after I installed the windscreen (w/ the rubber "grommets")- I feel like when I take the top of the windscreen and wiggle it back and forth the entire bracket moves a bit more than I'd expect. (the windscreen is not moving in the bracket; rather it's the bracket and the windscreen) It sounds like I'm just being a bit paranoid though. Let me look for the tutorial...

I may decide I don't want the carbon one at all after riding with the windscreen. Don't get your hopes up, but I'll entertain the idea of selling it to you for a very good deal. Thanks!

Also- when I put on the original windscreen- there's a good bit of space between the windscreen and the body of the bike (i.e. it doesn't fit flush). I assume that's normal? (sorry to be a PITA but I haven't been able to locate any tutorial on this forum) I've searched for "install" and "mount" windscreen.

Great thanks. It sounds like I may have had it right to begin with. Okay- time to put the parts back together! And this is the ducati carbon piece; so the bracket should be the same. I guess when the original owner purchased the carbon piece it included another bracket- which he didn't need.

Don't get rid of that carbon screen just yet. I am 5'7" and with the original screen I would get wind buffering that was really annoying. Put a smaller screen on and my head sits in clean air.

Thanks 821torque2go. I actually rode 700 miles yesterday with her with the carbon screen. First time I had even sat on one! :)

I actually liked the carbon one. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did. I'm looking forward to trying the original one though. I'm coming from a 2013 Street Triple R. Entirely different bikes. I can see why some people love and hate this bike. For me, it's exactly what I expected. Very happy so far.
