Grab Handles(?) or whatever those are called.

I ride the Hyperstrada mostly without the panniers and was wondering if anyone here has tried to remove the grab handles to make the rear of the bike look more like a Hypermotard than a Hyperstrada.

Mount a heavy top case on them and they will removed themselves !

I looked into fitting the Hypermotard rear panels on my Strada a few weeks ago, the Motard panels are red with no handles.

The Strada panels are moulded in one piece including the top pannier bracket and handles, so changing them would mean eliminating the pannier mounts completely, plus at U$270-00 a side panel here, they can keep them

I fancied the idea of having a matching red tail piece, time to get the panels sprayed maybe

There is a guy on this forum who painted part of the grabrail. It was for a white Hyperstrada but I couldn't find the picture or subject anymore.
Maybe that is an option, have the grabrail and a red part as well.

I would like to replace them with the Hypermotard panels but for that price the grab handles stay were they are.

I'd rather not mess around with paint.

Guess I keep looking for a decent offer on the world wide interwebs.

i think so

aftermarket panels/fairings (even if they're carbon) are a lot cheaper than ducati oem

I just checked the USPS website, and shipping via Flat Rate box (3-5 days) would run around US$80. Would bring the total to about US$240. I'll chime in to help a fellow Dachshund lover... got paypal?

That is really decent of you guys, the next round of beers is on me

I checked on Amazon again, they refuse to send things here via the mail because our postal service is so bad and so many things get stolen. Apparently Amazon customers in SA were claiming huge amounts of losses on a monthly basis. In fact I have been waiting since the first week in August 2014 for a parcel container my aluminium levers

This said Amazon will deliver via private courier, so I guess I can damage the credit card that way round

I have the Ducati aftermarket carbon screen on my bike, the finish is matt and I am not sure what gloss carbon would look like in contrast to matt

I received the covers yesterday. They look great and seam to fit ok.
The covers came with the required screws and clips.

Here's was you need in addition to the covers:

2x 85040471a clip
2x 77150393b screw
4x 77440171a screw

Will post more pictures when I have the covers installed on the bike.

Grab Handle replacement

Has anyone else tried these? I'm looking to do the same to my HS. I called Sling Shot racing and asked about how to fasten these. The person I spoke with said there were no clips or screws that come with these carbon covers.
