I am very close to pulling the trigger in a 13' Hyperstrada. It will be my fifth bike in two years and twentieth in 11. Yes I know I have a problem. I will be trading in a 2013 Speed Triple R, a great bike, however after 26 years in the fire service and knee surgery the peg position on the ST3R is just too aggressive, as well no one makes a rear set that lowers the pegs. I sold my 2012 Multistrada to buy the ST3R because I wanted something a little more sporting. I had a 2011 ST3 and really liked it, as well the knee never hurt. So over the past few weeks I've been going to the dealer and riding their Hyperstrada demo. The only issue I foresee is possibly needing to upgrade the suspension, however time will tell. I'll post pics ASAP when it happens.
Cheers,

Welcome!

Welcome Firerider!
Are you in US or UK?

Did you try test ride on HS?
The peg is in front comparing with ST3.

Anyway welcome to HS forum, the hottest forum.

I was a little concerned about the suspension at first also. Give it a chance first. Shock preload for me is like 4 clicks out from full on. I am 185lbs without gear.

The suspension is pretty good when tossing it around, just gets a little unsettled in cruising at speeds above 70mph with bumps and wind from trucks and stuff.

First off, thanks for the welcome!

HiroTokyo, I am in the US, central Kentucky to be exact, horse country.
Peg position is both more forward and lower than on my speed triple. Which is more comfortable on my knee.

SuperTen, I figure I will ride remainder of this season with the stock setup to see how it is. Then if necessary upgrade come spring. I assume that when you say "out from full on" you are talking about from the stiffest position, correct?
Thanks again,
John
