Good day fellow riders!

I've been riding for the last 8 years and I love exotic bikes. I've owned quite a few so far and I am hoping that the HyperStrada will be my next touring horse.
That is if and only if they start selling them in Canada. Seems like they are so close from arriving but yet so far... It's such a tease! I'll probably paint it different colour to make it more exotic LOL...

Here is a list of what I owned, and what I own currently:

Owned:
1984 Honda V30 Magna (I bought this from my mom to learn)
2008 Aprilia Shiver 750 (the supermodel with attitude)
2008 BMW F800ST (my best friend saved my life in a crash)

Co-own with hubby:
2011 Triumph Daytona 675R (feeling naughty? bike)
2008 Hyosung GT650 (track experiment)
2009 Suzuki V-Strom 650 (hubby's touring bike)

Perhaps you can help me picking my next bike, or provide me with some guidance. I need a sport-touring bike that I can ride on 1000kms/day journeys without too much difficulty. My F800ST was great, though I had to sink in almost $3000 in ergonomics to make it my own.
Here are the bikes I'm thinking of:

Hyperstrada
KTM 990 SM-T
BMW F800GT
Triumph Tiger 800 (not the XC)
Triumph Sprint ST

I am comfortable with being on the ball of my feet as height, my inseam is 32" if that helps.

I'm hoping I'll be able to test-ride all of these during the summer.

Thank you, and keep the rubbers down :)

Welcome in this forum and have fun.
To discover if (or how) a bike fits youself go to cicle-ergo.com but don't forget: only the heart, and the feelings, will drive you to your next choice.

Yep, 32" does fine with the HyperStrada, and I even have the shock preload cranked up almost to the stop.

I traded the 2012 STR on it, really liked the Triumph's motor. Plenty of power and speed but the slightly crouched over and no wind protection finally got to me. The HyperStrada is a little better in all respects for me. The STR (as you know from the daytona) would rev easy to 12k+, redline on the Hyper is 10.5k rpm, I have not been over about 7.5k yet, but it really sings and wants to go!

I did a test ride on the Tiger 800, really nice, think it was lower also.

That's a great tool!

Welcome to the forum! Good news: I'm also Canadian and I've had my Hyperstrada for two weeks now. I bought mine in Ottawa, but they also have them at GP Bikes in Whitby.

Definitely go for this bike either in 'strada or 'motard form. It's AWESOME!!!

Went to GP bikes today and ended up buying the white one. Its a tad tall but they ordered the low seat for me. I'll take delivery of it when the part comes in!

Whereabouts from Ottawa? I'm originally from Hull!!!

congrats on the bike! i live in NB and had mine just over 2 weeks and love it, had over 800kms on in my first weekend.

All good choices and I was looking at some of those same bikes.

I think if you are comfortable with the size of the Triumph Sprint you should also consider the MultiStrada.

Once you have narrowed to a specific 'category', then the choice becomes based on 'intangibles' and personal preference (ergos, engine characteristics, looks, sound, etc).

Personally - I would own any of these bikes - but I found the SMT too high for me, felt I was sitting in vs on the the bike on the Triumph tiger, wanted a different engine character than the BMW, and found the Triumph a bit heavy.

I ended up choosing the Hyperstrada but don't consider it a sport tourer (maybe I will be proven wrong). I needed 80% weekend fun on shorter rides and 20% occasional longer trips.

Enjoy shopping around and trying all those bikes!

Welcome to the forum. Your 32" will be no problem, I'm about 29 and on my toes. I looked at the Triumph Tiger 800 roadie but the power delivery was not as exciting. It felt bulkier and a bit more top heavy when compared to the Hyperstrada. I was set to buy the Tiger this spring until I found out about the Hyperstrada. Most of my riding has been commuting to work so can't comment on long rides yet.

I have to agree with you. The look of the Tiger 800 is off-putting. It means business, like someone showing up at you front door with a baseball bat even though you did nothing wrong.

I'll have to see with GP if the height is working out. BTW her name is Leela
