Australia/Thailand
Hello everyone,

My name is Phillip, or as the Thai's say it 'Fileeep!' I am Australian but have been living in Thailand for nearly 8 years now and in that time Ducati has moved here to assemble their bikes.

I took the Strada for a test ride in Perth, Western Australia last month and just loved it....done deal...so I went into Ducati in Pattaya to order one....No hab! they have now stopped assembling the Strada here but still sell the Motard.

I am told, they are basically the same bike but the Motard is a bit taller in the seat and comes without the extras....

I am heading into Ducati for a test ride tomorrow...

The 2014 price for the Strada was 549,000 Thai baht and the 2015 price for the Motard is 449,000 Thai baht.

Had a look around for a second hand Strada but none around, they would be just a perfect bike for Thailand...I have been riding the Kawasaki Versys up north in Chiang Mai.....the roads there are just fantastic....

Anyone else been riding over here?

Cheers, fileeep!

Hyper Thai

Welcome, have been riding the Hyper since last May here in Thailand.

You may want to try a couple of the locations in BKK, I still saw Hypers for sale and at the same old price. They still list on their web site.

Thanks BMD,

I went into Ducati Pattaya today and test rode the hypermotard...loved it, good to try it out in some heavy traffic, it handled it very well and I was very comfortable on it. So I put a deposit down.

Unless I know exactly where a Strada is, I would be just chasing my tail around bkk and I want one very soon, I'm heading back to Australia this Thursday and back here in April and want to pick it up when I return....I wonder why they stopped marketing the Strada, it was such good value.....It isn't listed on Thailand's 2015 price list....

I suspect if they are no longer making it here, the import taxes will make it non competitive. Taxes can add 30 - 40% to the price if imported in Thailand.

It was the great price that got my attention. Up until they started building here the prices were just out to lunch for any of the imported machines.

Hi Phillip

I'm contemplating selling my Strada if you are interested.

I took delivery on 27/12/13 (however the bike was not actually registered until May 2014 as I had to what for Special Number - 'xxx 821')

The bike has been well cared for, serviced (including intermittent services and pre-trip oil changes), by Ducati Thonglor.

The bike has a little under 11k kms, and has the following additions:-
DP Alarm System
Termingoni Titanium Slip On
Motovation Frame Sliders and Fork Sliders
Puig Touring Screen
SW Motech Bash Plate
SW Motech Rear Carrier
SW Motech Mirror Extenders
Bags Connection Tail Bag
R&G Radiator Grill
Rizoma Rear Brake Cylinder
PIAA Twin Horm
Wheel Stripes from Holland (not cheap Chinese ones!)
Mobile Phone Mount
Go Pro Mount
Dukabike Oil Filler Cap

If you are interested, let me know your phone number and we can talk.

I'm in Bangkok (close to Airport, so easy to reach from Pattaya)
