OK, so time to reveal how much you've spent in accessories on your Hyperstrada? I'll go first so you guys aren't embarrassed and can justify to your wives how reasonable your expenditures are in comparison.

By the end of this month, there will be a little over $5,000 into it of total accessories. And I'll be DONE. Previous owner who only put 800 miles on it had invested about $1,000 of that into it, so $4,000 is from my own pocket. I'll be sure to post some pictures once it's all done.

Nowt.... until I get the bike.

Or several £££s in fuel to get to the test bike, and £10 I put in it on my test ride :)

Humm, what have you done and what is all the extra bits added?

I have not done any tweeking yet as the bike had almost all things i wanted when it came.
I got the Heated grips included and first service in the price (with the 1 year delay on the grip, they will be put on this year)
This year i will change sprocket (14T) and add a topcase. Nothing else as im pritty happy with it as it is. :)
The sprocket and some of the service cost will be compensation for the heated grip issue.

I had most Ducati Performance accessories included in purchase price:
Termignoni
Carbon exhaust protector
Low seat
Heated Grips
Bike Cover

Since new I have added:
HealTech GIPro Gear Indicator - $A200
OHLINS Steering Damper and Ducabike Mounting Bracket $A500
SW MoTech ALU Rack - $A250
SW MoTech Bags Connection Quick Lock Daypack Bag - $A160
SW MoTech Alu Rack Quick Lock adapter Kit - $A100
Two USB Ports- $A20
Hella Plug to Cigarette Lighter Socket $A25
Crikey, that's a total of more than $A1,200

If the wife asks, tell her I won it all in an online competition! ;) I am so lucky as they were just the things I needed.

I love it when the wife actually notices a new part and asks "Something looks/feels/sounds different. Did you do something to the car/bike?"

Nope. Probably your imagination, Dear.

LOL Funny story about this…

I took the plunge and ordered my Andreani Cartridge kit without her knowing and figured I would just "hide" it because she would never notice. So we swing by the dealer to just check things out and burn up some time. One salesman is BS'ing with her and getting her acquainted with the shop and Ducati's, etc… So I grabbed the lead guy and we snuck off to the back so he could show me the parts that came in and talk about installing them. She came back when we were putting them back in the box and I was thanking him for showing me around. We get out to the car and she asked "Hey, did you order those front fork cartridges?" LMAO Here I though she never understood what I was talking about when I go off on my little rants about "fixing this or that"……She's a witty one! Ha-ha

So I've only spent the $900 on those, plus the $300-500 to install them (find out when they're done…they had to go to the machine shop because Ducati peened one of the set-screws on the fork lowers). I grabbed a $100 tank bag, and $200 in new handlebars and hand guards (on order now). And finally, a black F Fabbri Windscreen for $100. So…I'm not doing to bad. But my list of wants is adding up fast.

Here's what I would like to spend soon…

Arrow Black Exhaust: $600 (with mid-pipe)
MWR Power Up kit & Filter: $200
ECU Re-flash for intake/exhaust mods $???
Axle sliders: $125
Frame Sliders: $150
Skid Plates: $200 range??

All in time,…as money permits….lol

Hah! Good story! So when will the forks be done? Please let us know how it improves the ride. I'm happy with how mine rides right now but I guess you don't know what you're missing until you experience it.

I am not one to spend lavishly, especially on cosmetics. So far I've spent about $1250. Some other bits I made myself, plus I bought a couple of tools. Other than improving the splash protection, I'm just about done.

currently installed:
Racetech fork upgrade: $500
Axle and frame sliders: $280
Front coil protector: $ 70
LED rear turn signals: $ 40
Shorai LI-PO battery: $150

on order, due any day:
Radiator guard: $120
LED driving lights: $ 60

The Dunlops are not farkles, they are wear items, but I got the pair for $260 online; mounted and balanced them myself. The tank bag was part of the original purchase, not sure exactly what I paid for it as I got a discount on the whole package.

Yesterday I took the wifey out to breakfast on the back, and she remarked on the improved ride that the fork work provided. Dragged the centerstand a couple of times, too.

Have you had them installed yet? Would love to hear about the difference

My Ohlins dealer said that their cartridge inserts would run about $1300 plus installation. Racetech quoted me the same price for gold valves, springs etc. all the way around on my buddy's R6. And they said the Hypermotard's rear shock is not rebuildable, but the one on the Strada sure looks like you can disassemble it.

I have a tough time justifying spending thousands of dollars on stuff the factory should have done!

Recently a buddy who works at a dealership sold me a pair of Dunlop D616 for $100, they sold them to a guy for his FJR and he brought them back cause his bike got a wicked wobble after putting less then 30km on them. Found out later his rim was bent and there is nothing wrong with the tires. My fiancé still has no idea those are in the basement but I didn't want to loose out on that deal.
