If you take all the panniers and crap off the Strada, are they good fun for ripping around the countryside on a Sunday with your mates ? I used to have the Hypermotard many years ago and that was ok to be fair, but is the Strada a sort of `toned down ` version ? Will it still perform as a good street bike ?

Nope, they are horrible ;)

i can go a lot faster on the hyper than my fireblade on country roads. To be honest i only keep my blade for when i go to the isle of man, as the hypers top speed is not fast enough for me on the mountain section , but its spot on for limited uk roads.

I've found the same myself. What year is your 'blade r3?

the blade is a 2011 model . i have used it a bit more this year due to the hyper being off the road for 2 months waiting for a new throttle assembly from ducati. i got the hyper back and did over a thousand miles in the first week cos it is such a fun bike.

What is a Blade?

Suspension on the Strada is a little lower that is all. I ground off my shift/brake pegs the first time I tracked it. They aren't placed well. Still a lot of fun in twisties.

That is only compared to the SP, not the regular motard. Unless you have a lowered version or a 15+ which I believe all of the 15's and up are lowered. I'm still wondering myself if I have a lowered version.

13-14 models had standard and 'low' versions. Standards were same setup as non-SP Motards. For 15, they all went low.

If you have less than a 32" inseam and can get both feet comfortably on the pavement, you have a low model.

The strada is a very mellow touring only type of bike. no way can it hold a candle to a motard. They are completely different.

I don't think a bargain adjustable front suspension and a little less plastic transforms the Motard into a uber-superior bike.

It is a Honda cbr1000rr Fireblade . As far as i know they are Fireblades in the U.S.A but i may be wrong.

Back in the day, the original CBR 900RR Fireblade was just known as the "900RR" in the US. Every where else, it was the "Fireblade". Not sure if it's still that way.

I've an '08, so same shape as yours r3, but pretty sure they're badged 'CBR1000RR' in the states, where ours say 'Fireblade' on the side fairing.

ha ha ! So, going back to my op.....

Is the strada a `motard` in disguise or not ??
