Anyone have Klim gear at all? My dad has their badlands pro stuff but that's really heavy duty and more for hardcore adventure riding. I was hoping someone has a latitudes jacket, that's the one I'm about to buy.
Klim makes good stuff. My friend just bought the Apex jacket and it's nice. I went with Aerostich because 1 piece suit is so practical even though theyre frumpy.
I've REALLY been wanting to pull the trigger on an aerostich. I understand there's lot of customizing you can do for the fit. I'll probably plan on getting the rounded shoulder and the ellipsis in the back. Any other thoughts you want to share?
I'll probably get the R3- which is the newer one. I hate the idea of paying that much, but overall the stuff seems the best. I particularly like the fact that it's easy to get into and out of and that it's alway water proof.The always waterproof thing is what drew me to the Klim. Aerostitch was not even on my radar I'll have to look them up. I'll look into promoto, the name sounds familiar.... I think my dad is a member. I'll look into it. Thanks all.

I have the R3. It's significantly cooler than the classic because there is no liner, and has a few nice upgrades over the classic, like magnetic collar and a taller button down collar. The suit is awesome. Fits over your clothes and you're in and out in 20 seconds. There are tons of vents for riding in hot weather. You can fill the pockets with ice. You can basically be naked underneath and still fully protected. etc etc etc
The customizing is pretty nice, but accept that it's made entirely from goretex cordura and is not a stretchy material. Also you want to size it for putting a warm layer underneath and to allow movement on the bike. So the end result is they all look sorta frumpy.
It's not even that much really. It's on par with the Klim gear or even cheaper.
For the Hyper you dont' really need any special mods to the suit. Just make sure you get it plenty long enough to extend past a pair of pants. For a sport bike you will absolutely need the forward rotated sleeves and/or back elipse or else you will get a lot of tension.
I ended up taking measurements, buying a regular size custom that didn't fit, so they took it back and sent me a long one to try on, and then I ordered another custom one. Amazing customer service. I was skeptical when I first started using mine because it felt sorta weird, but now I can never go back to "normal" riding gear for day-to-day use.
So I just checked out Klim. It definitely looks like their stuff is more for heavy duty last forever adventure riding. It looks like the Aerostich is much more purpose built for all around motorcycle gear. For what I do, it seems Aerostich would be the clear winner. And I never thought I'd say this, but Aerostich is actually less expensive.
FLrider- I'm excited for you to check out Aerostich. Depending on what type of riding you're doing, I'm thinking you're going to think Aerostich might be more of what you are seeking. BTW- any reviews (good or bad) about the Aerostich that are older (3 or 5 years even?) are about the original Aerostich Roadcrafter, which they still sell. You want reviews on their newer R-3 (also called the Roadcrafter). It makes researching more difficult so I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Everything you are saying is exactly what I've heard. I've used the sizing calculator (numbers checked by their people) and spoke to someone on the phone. They recommended a 40L for me.
BTW- I tried to buy used- but literally a 10 year old suit on eBay went for over $850. You can buy a new one for roughly $1,200. So for anyone reading, it seems that going new is the way to go. (and obviously, the older suits on eBay are not the newer R-3)
Just buy it new. It will last you 10 years and you don't someone else's funky monkey butt suit anyway
