I still appreciate my hypermotard sp, especially after finishing the suspension work to match my weight and riding. I do wish she had a little more grunt, especially in the upper end. My thoughts were to switch over to a 520 conversion to include a superlite sprocket carrier and an alloy rear sprocket down to 42T for a little more top end extension in the middle gears. This conversion would also reduce weight where it counts-while turning, and having a quick-change carrier makes changing rear sprockets a breeze compared to stock.
I'd also like to shave off more weigh if possible. Since she's not being used to carry a pillion, no need for the passenger footrests. But looking at the rear sets, the support for the footrests seems way over-kill. They look like they weigh a ton. I've looked into some adjustable rear sets, but they seem very pricey. Has anyone done any of the above mods, or anything else to lighten their hyper?
