Nothing serious, but I expected a better paint work...
+ at the mounting of the rear shock at the frame, there is a place, were water gets trapped. Looks yellow inside there, I sprayed a whole bunch of WD40 in there now.
Do you guys notice such things too, or am I just very picky?
(sorry for the bad english... not my native language)
Probably is harder for us to notice since most of us have hyperstradas which come with the dark gray frame. And as far as i can remember the finish is not completely smooth but i will have to check when i get home.
My frame is textured and thick, almost like engine enamel. I agree that some of those area's are thin and shouldn't have passed inspection on the production line.
There's a spot under the front fender and the area above rear shock accumulator that trap water. I have to rock mine side to side and compress the suspension agressively to get most of the water out after washing. I shoot compressed air in all the tight areas, as well.
is this a case for warranty or just manufacturing variations? Anyone here with a Motard? Can't be that I'm the only one among all these stradas...
PS: I was treating the bikes metal parts and suspect holes in the frame with WD40 today very well... I hope this will give me an advantage against the enemy of all bikers... the rust
I can't understand you.... I have a hypermotard and therefore a red frame. The hyperstradas have a grey frame. Do you mean, that all frames are red in the first place and then they are repainted for the stradas in grey???
I tought that you had a strada and it where strange that your frame where red.
As i look at your post better i se that you have a motard so the color is right.
My bad.
My strada frame is grey, and dont have the flaws your red one have.
I just complained about the problem at my dealer. He took pictures and will send them to ducati. He thinks i might get a new frame. We will see what ducati says about this. How long does it take commonly for ducati to respond?
