I'm looking to buy a used hyper. After researching the issues with these bikes I don't really see any improvement over the years with the electronics. So are any of you 15 owners having the same issues that the 13's had? Or has Ducati sorted out the ecu issues, coils, starters and whatever the hell else keeps these bikes from starting and running properly?

Appreciate your input.

The warranty recall to solve the Canbus issue applies to all.

The starter issue is the luck of the draw. Ducati paid for the starter and I paid $185 for the dealer to install the better Japanese starter.

Any other issue seems very rare.

I would focus on the suspension travel instead as there are normal and low versions of the Hyperstrada. I desired the longer suspension travel.

I have a '15. I got the canbus thing taken care of, I haven't had any real issues with the starter or clutch (that I notice anyway). I did have an issue with the engine stumbling but that ended up being a short in an O2 sensor. Aside from that I have 8200 miles on it so far (I know, I'm a slacker).

They're all equivalent as far as reliability goes, just be sure the TSB/recalls are all done: Throttle, Canbus filter, and ECU updates.

What if they are not done? Would I be able to have them done Without Ducati charging me for the updates and recalls?

My 13 has all updates and can filter . Never had any issues. Only mods are leovince slip on and exhaust valve removed.no surges or stumbles any where.only thing is 1st gear a little tall when take off on hills with pillion
