So I got my HS last week and took a nice long ride last weekend and have another one planned for Sunday.
I was inspecting the bike a couple nights ago and noticed that the 4 screws that hold in the plastic rear frame covers were missing (see attached photo for reference) and that other screws holding on the fairings/black plastic covers were barely threaded in.
I contacted the dealer and he put the screws in the mail, but I haven't called him to pester about the issue (but I will). For the time being I also found the same size/length screws locally that I'm using until the properly shouldered dealer screws arrive. I also can't seem to get the upper left hand plastic cover to fully seat into the space behind the frame. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? The only solution I can think of is to shave down the plastic tab until it fits, does anyone have another idea?
Since these issues are on non-essential items they never had the potential to cause danger, but it certainly makes me question the Ducati quality control process and gives me some doubts about the assembly of the bike on the whole. What other screws did they forget? Yeesh. Not a great feeling for my brand new bike...
