Congratulations! Hope the wait doesn't drive you crazy, lol. I'm sure you'll love the bike, it's a tremendously fun and versatile machine!

Just as a matter of interest. Which Exhausts are people using ? Which Tail Tidy`s ? Do the tail tidy`s for the 821 fit the 939 ?

Saw your comment in another thread. Nice score and congrats!

I recently fitted heated grips on my 2014. They are toasty warm, and very well integrated.

Not sure if the UK bikes got the same setup, but the stock exhaust is actually surprisingly nice sounding when you open up. I got my HS from the original owner who fitted R&G Racing fender eliminator with integrated turn signals. I have no complaints.

Presumeably this item will fit a 2016 model ? Is it the same rear end/bodywork?

Interesting you say that about the exhaust. I will take her for a good rip around and see if I am happy with the sound. It doesn't look too bad, maybe just a little bulky ?

If you want to drop some weight on the cheap, find a used 821 muffler. They are shorter, and much lighter due to the shortened length and smaller catalytic converter. It'll bolt right on.

But no sound change ?

Donno. I haven't heard the difference in person. I assume it might be a slight bit louder, as part of the Euro 4 emissions that the 939 needed to meet meant the bike had to be quieter.

The 821 stock muffler is by no means loud, but I think it's a pretty good tone. Especially high rpm at full throttle!

Running leo vince on my 821 sounds good with db killer removed

Congratulations!

I've had my 939 Strada for 1500kms now, and the stock pipe is actually sounding better. I waited until the 1000km service to consider any changes, but now I think I'm going to keep it. I'm still considering disabling the exhaust valve, but right now I'm just loving it like it is!

My wife has an 821 and I a 939. The 821 muffler is pretty nice but the Euro 4 muffler was too quiet for me so I purchased a lightly used 821 muffler for my 939. Also disconnected the flapper valve. Nice sound. The aftermarket ones were too loud for me.

Hey Steve,

I got mine 4 months and 5000 miles ago and have had to stop riding it because I'm close to exceeding my PCP annual mileage limit already. So, yeah it's an absolute blast. Every time I open the garage door, it's, er, like the first time...And as for the stock exhaust, it sounds beautiful.

You're gonna love it.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Phil.

Sounds good ! I will keep y 'all posted on my findings ! Right now though the weather here in Manchester England is pure ***** !

i did scotland last year on my 821 with standard pipe , my mates were saying it was bloody loud to follow for 1800 miles.

Sweet buy and the last production year, too.

So, did the 939's automatically get the DP handgaurds? Never noticed that before.

The 939 exhaust looks like it has a galbladder infection or something. I think they chose a bad shape to hide that size...think maybe just a flat oval design would have looked better. Regardless, the stock note is pretty **** but I'm still gonna get an aftermarket system for weight, ditch the cat and get the fullest out of my tuner and filter mods. I'm a bit worried about the increase in sound as I don't like drawing attention to the way I ride but I either have helmet tunes or headphones in 100% of the time, so, whatevs.
