Neutral problem clutch fluid pressure

i am not trying to be a pain, but that is not what the bulletin says. and a number of those bikes listed do not have hydraulic clutches.

look here - it mentions at step 5, models with cable actuated clutch..

Answer me this please, the bulletin covers all affected models.
Is your bike model on that list?
nope and i did mention that in my original post. however the monster 821 which is listed has the same engine.
I was trying to find out if it applied to the pre 2015 bikes as well, my mechanic seems to think it does but i will have a chat with him later. But it definitely is not solely about hydraulic clutches...

Different oil pump on the monster 821 than the early hyper 821. Like I mentioned before, that threaded limiting set up is for hydraulically actuated bikes and/or engines with the pump cast into the engine case. Your (and my)engine is the bottom one in these pics. All 821 monsters use the top pic. Multistrada and the test of the monsters use the pump like ours but have a pushrid inside the output shaft that the oil flows down.

Our bike is not listed because it doesn't have an adjustable oil pressure relief valve, it's for a different arrangement regardless if it's hyd. Or cable.
The monster 821 might be the same engine but the clutch was different too.
Our clutch was garbage from the start, that's why they changed it, they knew there was a problem, it was like an on off switch with no feel. Most have replaced/ upgraded the clutch plates with a modified version to get that normal feel. But when you have problems engaging 1st gear and neutral it's down to cable adjustment.

ok bud i hear you and i reckon you are probably right. I will check this evening by taking all the slack out of the cable and see if that makes a difference. I will also see if my mechanic has done anything on 2013 bikes....

When mine was new and I had clutch/shifting issues, it was always the play. Dealer would set it back to stock and it would be good. 2-3 mm is the spec. I liked the grab point much closer, which would mess with engagement and neutral. All this is a great reason to swap for hydraulic setup. No more cable or lever adjustments.

Take it, it was just the clutch cable adjustment that sorted this out, seeing as there has been no reply for a while??

Well it's certainly better. I am going to fit a hydraulic clutch anyway hopefully so that should help.
