Looks like Ducati is keeping the Hyper alive. They are going back to a trellis subframe. Redesigned beak and side fairings. Now with a 'bread box' and undertail exhaust. Appears to be the same 939 motor as the current model.

Thoughts? I wonder if they will bring back the 'strada, or keep it a 'motard only. I like the trellis subframe. Interested to see what the final product looks like.

you see the 2 exhaustpipes under seat, so a strada with bags will not be possible in my opinion. ducati has the little 950 multi which replaces the hyperstrada.

the new one looks more like the old one ;-), maybe they go back to the roots with a more modern engine.

I saw some interesting videos on why undertail exhausts are going away, and also why they should. I think they look cool but not a fan of heat and noise. I prefer the newer stubby pipes like on the Diavel, and they make more sense for scavenging purposes.

What they should address is the damn fuel tank. I saw a video of an 821 Monster tank removal and it just hinges right off. The labor required just to get to the friggin air filter and top cylinder is ridiculous. Granted, I don't want a tank rubbing against my chest but there had to be a compromise option.

I like the look of the undertail exhaust the subframe, but I never liked the brake light wing, not sure why they are bringing that back. Doesn't look like enough has changed that I'll regret buying the 2018 sp as of yet.

Why they don't think about riders that are 5'8" and under is bizarre to me. I have owned so many bikes and my Hyperstrada is #1 in so many ways. Love it.
